I am glad that we eventually got bumped off from supposedly being third and are no longer in contention . This allows me to air my opinion without having any vested interest in the matter .
SABAK did a great job , in throwing a fun race for everyone . I am sure they would have preferred racing instead of marshalling and doing leg work .
I think it is unfair that there were insinuations that there was hanky panky . It is very unfair to those who won and also unfair to the organizer . I would like to assume that the podium finishers did not cheat and really won .
I would like to point out that SABAK would probably have no vested interest or motive in declaring one party over another as a winner .
Unless ofcourse there was gambling involved , which I really doubt . I would presume that their count or tally by should be the most a) unbiased and b) most credible and c) final .
Two cents . Its a 12 hour time trial you are racing around the clock , compounded with relay teammates . As a racer it would be very hard to figure who is ahead or who is behind . If it was a first to cross the line thing , am sure it would be a lot easier to determine who won .

Leo if you were there in the tracks waiting for the results for almost 5 hours you would have understood what we felt. Tired, weary and laspag and wanting to sleep soundly. Its over we tired our best, we deadlocked, lost to very strong teams in a matter of 2-3mins. We accept that. What do we do? we go on to the next race!!! Se you at the Nuvali race this saturday! Ride hard!!! ;D

Kudos to SABAK for actively and consistently promoting the sport of mountain biking in the country!! I bet one is tempted to ask what's their agenda behind doing all these things for the local MTB community. For myself, at least, I've come to conclude that it's just for pure love of the sport. I could remember clearly Ricky M., while addressing everybody during the race briefing, not even mentioning their store name as a place where one could buy parts in case a rider's MTB conks out. He keeps on saying one has enough time to buy at the mall. I think this simple gesture is reflective enough of their virtue, and that the race goes well beyond their store's interests. While I acknowledge that such races would benefit SABAK's image and bottomline somewhere, my hats off to all the SABAK peeps for taking the cudgels; taking that "bato na ihahampas mo sa ulo mo" for every racer's benefit. The races you guys organize just keep on getting better. I think it would do well for everybody if we all just continue to support SABAK, as well as all other groups/ organizations behind the active promotion of the local MTB scene (like TLBF 2008), in organizing more interesting MTB races that do very well to promote this great sport which -- cheesy as it may sound -- really paved the way for a new life for me. ;D I just hope that we could see beyond the imperfections and glitches of the race and just contribute to the betterment of all future MTB races. I'm sure SABAK did their best to make things equitable and enjoyable. I believe the scene's just starting to mature, so tiyagaan na lang muna tayo. Again, mabuhay ang SABAK peeps for a great race! Mabuhay ang lahat ng mga kumarera at mga tumulong sa karera! Mabuhay na rin ang Pilipinas! Sige, mabuhay na rin yung mekaniko naming si Tom (smbdealer)! Woohoo! Poch - Team Gran Trail Cycles (Westgate, Alabang, katabi ng SABAK)

Mr. Bautista, with all due respect, I think it was "stretchy pants", haha... Totally forgot to do my centurion get-up this race. Will either do that or a Nacho Libre attire on the next race when there are no more rains... alam mo namang I lost four hours in the race because takot ako talaga mag-ride sa ulan, hehe... Great race!

We all agree then...SABAK has a pure bike heart yeah...I even talked to them about the contradictory matter of promoting the "1 bike per rider" rule that advocacy for UCI rules goes contrary to their being an importer and LBS for bikes and bikeparts ---> I mean wouldnt they want other riders to see racers bringing more than 1 bike (e.g. 1 for fast pace and another for more relaxed/recovery pacing) . More bikes => more sales for SABAK as a business. but they didnt think like that..kudos to them I salute them for sticking to their bike passion
