Based on what I heard ( unofficial until I guess announced by SABAK ) .
On behalf of my team , we would like to extend our Congratulations to Team BMB for capturing first , Team Bike Hub for placing Second , and as told to me we are currently tied with Yellow Cab for third. Great Job Guys ! ( I hope i got it correct)
Then again it may be a matter of who finished the final lap first . So regardless of wheter we officially place or not , I congratulate everyone for runing a good race , keeping a good fight and most of all making the whole event a blast to ride !
Thanks SABAK for a great race and Thanks to Suunto for the last minute team sponsorhip of our jerseys !
- Team SIBAK - Leo , Tyrone and our wonderboy Thomas .

Just got the results. Our team Cycling Zone came in 4th. same no. of laps but BMB (team "B" 3rd) came in ahead of our last guy.
Congrats! BMB (1st) and Bike Hub (2nd) guys are strong! Inspite of the fact that we didn't make podium it was rewarding enough to come in behind such strong riders. But look out next time as we'll try to whoop your arses still hehehe....

I remember, around 7pm, most riders had already retired. quote was met. target laps were met. beers were ready. and the trail was already getting slippery. but still, there were a few riders still hacking at it, going as strong as their first lap, and I am just in awe at these riders still giving their all to the very last minute. (oh, and it was great that almost all riders were very courteous to us slower riders, advising us when they were going to pass and where.) congrats guys!

From my point of view, the only official unrefutable winner for sure is BMB Team A at 1st place winning only by mere one lap from the next team. The rest 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc...shall be made official by an announcement by the SABAK crew. As a racer who stayed on the racetrack until 3AM in the morning waiting for the results: Team Kamote, Team Bikehub and BMB Team B are all tied at Second Place with 91 Laps each. We wait until Sabak crew recounts all the tally sheets, lap times etc.. and then we will know the real score. In case anyone wants to know who the heck is this Team Kamote?!? ;D declaring itself in a deadlock amongst BMB and Bikehub? its the unofficial PinoyMTBiker team composed of MountG, Mojiks101 and super bulacan rider Allen. Allow me to share some of our photos. Team Kamote ;D mountguitars - Jon Allen mojiks101 - Ian

Hmmm , in that case with things being uncertain except for the undisputed BMB . Let me congratulate them .
i did swing by SABAK alabang during lunch and was told we got in third . But if I stand to be corrected , I extend my apologies for the wrong info and offer the sincerest congratulations to the ones who got second and third .
Wheter it be 4th , 5th or even last , we had a blast !
I guess we will have to settle this with a break dance pose off , are you ready for Magnum ?

nice pics ian.
i had a great time during the race. after the race though was a different story. the tallying of the laps were painstakingly slow and teidious and inaccurate.
sad to say being a contender sucks big time. how i wish i was just a plain fun rider. there's no fun if you're gunning for tops spots. i saw a lot of things na dehins maganda but im not gonna say it coz i dont want to be the one who spoils this thread. how i wish i had a flat or i broke my derailleur and it took me an hour to fix it para lang dehins maging contender for the top spots. or i crashed big time at di nako maka padyak becoz of my injury. so just so para di ko nakita yung dehins maganda at the end.
we were surprised and we never knew our team can make it at the top 2 or 3 or whatever even without the proper planning and training. even changing a team member at the last minute.
anyways, congrats to all who joined, finisher or not. thank god for the beautiful, almost perfect weather.
special mention to noel NVP who is my bike porn idol, hehehe ;D. this halimaw was using a 69iner setup on SS gearing and made 55 laps. ibang klase. (trans: unlike any other).
thanks again to those people at the tent, like charles for the oatmeal bars, malvin for the chivas, kumagdude for the water, arnel and marc's tent for the puto kutsinta and bananas, joma shuzzs for the pasta.
and a big thank you for ian mojix for providing our transpo and food and everything else. i really felt pampered. pa kiss brad.......mwah! hehehe ;D.
also, thanks to ian. malvin mtbventures and wilki for participating in the post-race-sunday-drinking session at JT's manukan along gilmore and then the videoke session at music 21 timog and then the happy moments after that, hehehe ;D.

triple posted post: I spoke with Boy titusti this afternoon and proposed that three donation jars be set up at Sabak Westgate, Cycling Zone and Gran Trail Westgate for the upkeep and trail maintenance of the Filicity track/trail. I think we can spare P10 or P20 each time we ride our country club tracks d ba, guys ? note: donation is optional. The money shall be used exclusively to pay for the weekly or bimonthly maintenance of the Filicity trail I ll speak to Hans & Tomas of Gran Trail and Jingo of Cycling Zone soon and I hope they will in turn support this trail upkeep. Let s adopt this track/trail, my southside bros and sistahs!

Always enjoy the race, and enjoy being a contender. Whether the people who brings home the bacon (trophy/cash/whatever) truly deserves or not, there's not much we can do. This is the Philippines! (anything can happen, look at our government). Anyway, what I'm trying to say is... the whole PinoyMTBiker community (if not the whole biking world) knows who you are anyway, you yourself, more than anyone else should know (what you are made of). Next time you're in contention and some "wise" official decides to award the podium to someone else, just let it go and say: "I know who I am and what I'm capable of. My team's performance has proven what we are capable that day. No award (or the lack of it) will take that fact away from us". And so, countless times, again and again, I congratulate the PinoyMTBiker peeps, Jon, NVP, and countless heroes on the tracks, and many other countless heroes who inspires us to keep on pushing and winning outside the tracks, despite of life's difficulties and seemingly unfair practices. Mabuhay!

hmmm! thats easy to say gadgets when your not in jons feet , este shoes pala;) ;D Oh, I've been there. My most memorable moment comes not from looking at the trophies garnered through the years (or from the invisible trophies that I deserved but did not get). My most memorable moment comes from the memory of saving a child from drowning. The look of fear from the girl (barely 9), and the way she gripped me when I got her. It was an exhilarating experience to have made a mark this way. That's what we all want to look back in life many years from now. Our self-respect (which nobody can take away). A fellow sports psychologist Trophies fade , respect does not Congrats to everyone Cheers to Sabak and to everyone na magpapagod to give mtbikers more races to have fun in Truly! Cheers to Sabak and everybody who made it possible year after year! More power!

Congratulations to the winners! you are all monsters in that race track! BMB, team Kamote, Yellow cab, bike hub, team Sunbolt!!! you guys where awesome riders, it was an honor racing with you guys! to all the finishers and to all the people who joined the race.... Big congrats!.... there maybe some questions about the tallying, of the scores... but it is also a good opportunity for the organizers to make improvements in their respective upcoming events... Problems like these will and can be solved... but the most important thing here is, and I believe that co mtbikers should focus on is the face that...the events being held in the Philippines is very much improving... and it is because of people like Sabak crew and other organizers who continue to strive very hard, to make trails, and organized events for us.... I just hope that people will not focus on some of the glitches... but be part of the solution to further improve the events of our beloved sport/hobby MOUNTAIN BIKING!....
Please also note that just by opening the track.... Sabak crew spent 4 months and believe me ( I was a witness) those are countless hours to convince filcity to re open this for all of us MTBikers... that alone is a feat that we should be thankful for..... peace to all... and I look forward to meet all of you guys again in the next MTB events!!
