didnt see any retzel but i do hear them croak and it gives me the creeps so i pedal faster ;D. yup, i heard about that big, fat frog blocking a section of a single track. good thing i didnt see it. or else, i could've panicked. any pmtbers come across snakes? our guys had a couple of encounters with cobras, along the race course, luckily it did not strike, only raised its hood , so the guys just detoured around it. I told y'all there were cobras in Munti (encountered one along the longer munti trail a year ago ) its all fun and part of biking though !

Thanks for the Results , Thumbie! Great Race, brad ... we ll be back for more next year ! any plans of making this a 2X a year race? Yeah ! I second the motion. In every event single round is boring . . . My suggestion have for working and executive category to have more fun. Also all female working and professional. We don't mind 2X the entry fee. . . . . the fun, experience and EB di mapapantayan. Entry Fee for the executive class 3X, kaya nga xecutive eh ! Some of the proceeds can go to Charity or MTB environmental related programs. How about making it regional so that other MTB bikers in other region can also join. I SALUTE THE BAGUIO RIDERS FOR COMING HERE. NOW LET US GO TO BAGUIO ! WHEWWW THAT WOULD BE GREAT WITH FAMILY OR LEGAL VISA TO BE OUT OF WORK AND OUT OF TOWN. Sorry just carried away by the consistent rain outside and can't ride this weekend. hu hu hu hu Thanks Thumbie for a job well done . . . . ..

mountainrunner. congrats for a successful race. It was challenging & fun. I hope that there will be more race to come. On a note... some of us are grumbling about the tally or how the laps are being counted. Its not accurate. During the race, we are dismayed that our actual number of laps does not match the official tally. I, for one actually had 26 laps but the record shows only 21, 5 laps was not counted, that's almost 20%. Any participant knows, how much effort is needed just to finish a lap, but I lost 5. I just want to let you know this concern so that you may address it in the future races. Other than that, we are grateful for people like you, for exerting efforts to organize such an event. More power to you! ;D

in our case, we lost three (3) laps (paul -2 & lito -1)...i think they didnt count the laps when we (paul and i) used the all male transition gate very early in the race...but i believe its more of misunderstanding...we were using a number series intended for all male category kasi...yes, its our fault, we failed to pre-register and all slots/ were already taken i feel we have to thank thumbie for letting us race despite of that...lesson learned here...till the next race.

First of all I would like to thank the PinoyMTBiker people at the race. It was great to see familiar faces. I do not get to meet everyone but nonetheless thank you for all the encouragement and the cheers everytime I passed by the PinoyMTBiker campsite.
Ricky (KRX), Eric (Essworks) and I were camped with the Speedy Bagal boys and the UP Mountaineers, we were quite far from where you were.
Our team was not able to finish the required laps, but that was not important. We went there to have fun and have fun we did.
Thumbie, there were some mistakes in the lap counts, even in our group, in our case it was laps being credited to another team mate but it does not matter in the end, we had fun. But for the more serious teams you may encounter complaints because of this. I am sure you will be able to improve this for next year's race.
This is my first time to join a race like this, it was hard, hot, and painful, but most of all it was FUN!

I was trying to analyze how there would be ways to go around thumbie's system. "In aid of legislation as our senators would say ba."
The system is quite sound I think. You have to have an ID w/ you passing thru the correct gate in order for your round to be counted. I think we could do with a sturdier, bigger ID that is more visible.
In the beginning there was confusion about which gate to enter. and those who passed thru the wrong gates got there round negated ( ouch! paul & tolits) but this was announced during the briefing before the race.
At night, specially in the wee hours of the morning, when we are dead tired we don't pay attention to the nos. being announced as we pass the start/finish line. I always make it a point that my correct no. is called out when i pass. I corrected them twice. I guess if you can't handle it yourself, you should assign a team mate or crew to guard that.
Unless there is outright cheating where riders are replaced. Yep, having a clone (same uniform n helmet at night) doing rounds for you so that you are still able to go around at a fast pace.
Or if you go start then go off to the back side of the tents and walk past the start/finish line then show up just before the climb at the start/finish line and cross in much less time it would normally take to make a round (12-14 mins). Pag nahuli, Just say, "you took a leak!"
I heard unconfirmed tsismis someone w/ his bike was seen by the river and said he just took a leak and when asked why he had his bike with him he just shrugged and insisted he just took a leak. Ask Thumbie. for more details.
Ewan kung meron nag EPO. hehehe...
Maybe if there were more listings of running results say every 4 hrs. this way it can be determined if it is physically possible to do so many laps w/in a given time.
Other than these methods I can't seem to think of a way to get around the system. Do you have any other way? In aid of legislation lang!
But all in all, it was done professionally and strictly. the 15 round minimum was strictly imposed and the wrong gate, no count rule also applied.
It is really for the look out of the competitors to guard your laps so to speak. If your in contention or think you are being cheated then place a "watcher" behind the scorers 24 hrs. Otherwise, we all have to rely on the best effort of the organizers to keep the competition fair and accurate.
Great Job Thumbie! we'll join any of your races!

ramon, your honors, just a point of clarification...ours is a special case...since we were assigned a number series for all men (25,26,27)...as i said before naubusan kami ng slot for mixed categ...our team captain paul prolly assumed thats also the gate to use and gave us the instruction accordingly...which as it turned out later on dehins pala..am not blaming anybody...we could have clarified it before the start of the race, unfortunately hinde...if that's the rule, so be it.

btw, while resting during the race, some peeps and i actually discussed about this...someone proposed that a stub be given every lap to the racer..so that if there will be some problems later on regarding lap count, the racer can show how much stubs he actually accumulated. i think its a sound a idea that can be developed.

... or a passport... ...just like what is used in adventure races... it can be signed, stamped, and/or punched by the registrar/organizer when a participant crosses the CP (checkpoint) or start/finish line... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventure_racingracers are required to have their passports stamped, either by a volunteer or by using a specialized punch www.ozarkextreme.com/adventure_racing_lingo.htmlPassport - An item created by the race organization which each team must carry throughout the race to collect their CPs on. The passport must be signed or punched at each CP. Loss of the passport results in a team disqualification (DQ) as in, "Passport? I don't have the passport....... Don't you have the passport? WHO HAS THE PASSPORT?!!"
