Sir Spartan, what FS would you recommend? I think I've outgrown my Giant Aluxx XTC HT already. I may have to dispose of it in favor of a FS as I find myself getting more involved with a group who does singletrack and offroad with long XC rides often and I cant seem to keep up with their agility. Considering I think Im already above average strong. I find them relaxed after a long ride. I know I cant afford the Alma or Mojo bikes of my friends but I would at least like to give them a run with an equivalent full susser. I would only need a FS frame as I intend to transfer my light HT (SRAM X-9 comps, Avid brakes, GXP Truvativ Crank) components to my prospected FS. Any suggestions? Hi, Personally, I like Cannondales. A Jekyll is an awesome x-country FS racer. Its light, fast, climbs well and handles beautifully on switchbacks. It has a unique "attitude" adjuster that allows best of both worlds. It allowed me to keep up with heavier frame bikes on decents yet climbs as fast with HT's. Its designed for fast x-country racing so if you love to bomb steep techincal drops--this bike isnt for you. The best thing about this bike is you can find a used one for a very affordable price . Heck if I can find my next bike, I can sell you my FS ~24lbs ;D- your components will be an awesome finishing touch . This is the bike I want to upgrade with. willybikes.com/itemdetails.cfm?catalogId=1&id=12123but if I can find a new 2007 (much preferred). www.cannondale.com/bikes/07/cusa/mountain/scalpel/model-7VP0.html -cheers

I suddenly felt like Im way over my head if I get one right now.....it just feels too rad for me esp the lefty idea...probably need to test ride on one of those just to get a "feel" when I get home. My many readings in this site makes me lean more towards another Giant....Inputs in the many threads ..they're all very enlightening, time-consumming but i guess worth it in the long run...

gdls11, The only thing shining here is my tummy hehehehe... tumataba! hehehe... BrusKO: OT: its actually the same for me, its been awhile since i've ridden (3-4mos?) and when I came back I suddenly felt like the game was different..it has evolved without me, heck, I've (d/)evolved I've packed an additional 20lbs! My ole biking buddies didnt only get stronger, but they grew bolder doing more rough terrains than what I'm used to when we used to MP3 several months back. Their rigs have also changed. FS did seem to be a logical next step for me...that and diet ;D

personal choice: FS why? it barrels down the hill effortless without rattling your brains off.. a skipping hardtail is a scary story.... when all is said and done you should be the one to define your riding technique so to speak.. and what works for you... FS is comfort... it won't hurt treating your arse nice from time to time... uhmm.. a body scrubs is nice too.. hehehe to think how often do you have your arse massaged... hehehe
