do you need to unweight your rearwheel high enough or is it ok if it just slightly lifted.
thanks.

uy bunnyhop ;D ngayun masakit forearms and back muscles ko...hehe next week sana 1 inch na Bakit ? Did you lower your saddle? I don't know if i'm doing the right thing when i hop, i could'nt even know how high i hop.

konablack, I didnt lower my saddle sir. I dont know but I was just imitating how I used to do it on my BMX...i'm no expert back then, and still no expert right now. pero I think I'm getting the feel of biking again. hehe..balik bata I carry the bar first then clip my feet to carry the pedals para same time yung pag lift nung front at rear wheels...i'm just crossing my fingers na the headset wont give way... siguro naman at this height eh di pako malulula...next week 1-inch jump na ang project ko...hehe..wish me luck

Ei Kona...musta? Long time no hear from me..he..he..just gone to the ortho this afternoon and told me to stay away from physical activities that could further strain my aching shoulders...imagine...even my internet browsing gustong i-shorten...and my trials practice Mr. Suave 'pre...I used to be a bmx'r also...and like you...I just kind of re-applied the techniques in lifting my mtb for a bunnyhop If you are lifting the bike with both wheels at the same time for a bunnyhop...I strongly suggest you develop the better alternative...that is...lift the front wheel first then the rear...this technique helps you to lift the bike higher..at syempre...japorms ;D

...this technique helps you to lift the bike higher..at syempre...japorms ;D pogi points din pala..hehe..sige sir mag experiment ako..pagagalingin ko muna yung pains ko..may wrist pain na din ako eh
|
|
|
Post by jibber on Sept 9, 2004 19:33:26 GMT 8
Hmmmmm...wrist pain...check the following to minimize wrist pain... 1. handlebar fore & aft position...if you are doing your jumps with the handlebar set too far forward...this could result to wrist pains...usually adjusted so that the bar is leading by about an inch in front of your front hub when in normal riding position... 2. brake lever position...usually set at 45 deg angle... 3. when you land the jump...absorb the impact by bending your elbows... ...and don't forget to do stretching exercises before you practice...yan ang palagi kong nakakalimutan kaya heto ako ngayon...laid-off from biking for almost 3 weeks na..hu..hu..

hey Kona & mr. suave....sorry din for this veeeerrrry late reply, phone line was dead for almost 5 days please don't address me as master...same lang tayo nag-aaral pa lang...i'm haven't graduated yet from the basic moves...specially now that pahinga muna ako from biking due to shoulder pain which is currently under physical therapy hey...si mr. suave ba and bukoy is one and the same??? i'm confused mr. suave...'pre fore & aft ay parang short cut ng "before & after" (he..he..according to my own dictionary)...sa handlebar this means positioning the bar forward or backward by loosening the screws at the stem that clamps the handlebar. tapos rotate mo lang ang handlebar forward or back ;o) right now i have set my bars nearer to the saddle...also, get the widest handlebars possible...mine is 27"...this helps a lot in doing those crazy trials tricks kona...btw, when i tried your bike...i was comfortable doing the backhops so medyo ok na yung setup except for the brake levers...set it up for one-finger braking only

Sorry for the confusion between the two ;D ...get the widest bars you can find...madali naman bawasan kung sakali ...think it over if you really want to get a shorter stem... 1. Longer stem (like your present one) is more stable and will give you more leverage and space in doing backhops and pivots. 2. Shortem stem (like mine) is more twitchy but gives me more control 'coz I'm short..he..he..and my frame's top tube is too long for me and this setup relieves my shoulder pain a little If I'm as young as you are I'll get a longer stem, wider bar, 12" seat tube height and will try to get up a 4 feet wall or drop-off from an 8 feet wall..he..he..jaz be carefull if ever you would wanna try it ;D ;D ;D

Still cant do it properly yung type na mauuna yung front wheel tapos yung rear wheel, di ko magawang simultaneous.

I can't seem to properly execute this too when going slow...but at 10 to 15kph I can usually bunnyhop at only 1.5 feet high max...more than this ayoko na...'coz the higher you fly, the harder you fall
