any word on what the prizes are for all the categories? not for my sake of course some of the regular mtb racers are asking. they want to be sure that the race is worth their blood, sweat & tears for 12 hours of work..

titusX,
Just comparing with the 24 hr race the solo has 15 laps at 5 kms course = 75 kms.
this 12 hr race min is 36 laps at 3 kms course = 106 kms ! ! !
Anyway it's your rules but in my opinion it is not equitable with the 12 minimum lap requirement per rider with the team. There seems to have a rationale behind this move, MAY WE KNOW WHAT IT IS?

There seems to have a rationale behind this move, MAY WE KNOW WHAT IT IS? tHANKS I communicated via text with Boy, one of the owners of Sabak
He stated that the racetrack is not overly technical and quite easy
It s 2.6kms long and it took him 12 mins 30 secs to finish one loopnote: we did the >5km 24hr racetrack in about 19 minutes per loop so its should be the same difficulty wise. However.... Doing the Math: 12.5 x 36 = 450 minutes full ride / 60 = 7.5 hrs of nonstop ridingthrow in a 5 minute rest inbetween laps .... 34 x 5 = 170 mins / 60 = 2.8 hrs rest 7.5 hrs + 2.8 hrs = 10.3 hrs racetrack time with rest @ 36 laps But then again how many of us will ride all-out ? I wont The numbers above do not even consider: mech breakdowns, lunch, dinner, call-of-nature breaks, track traffic, etc I respectfully suggest 20 laps as the solo finisher requirement my 2 cents

25 huling tawad. (trans: last forgive me ) heheh that s really my final minimum lap suggestion, idol Tolits ...I started low for nego purposes ;D But It would help the sport if we got more peeps to join races ...if only to beat their fear of races d ba? funracing = pushing to your "almost limit" and bragging about it => thus inspiring others to join as well since everyone thinks they are better than you ;D ;D heheh Besides .... @36 laps solo THERE s NO BEERTIME @20-25 laps theres time for 4 bottles or so...that about tells it all

arnel, i share the same view with you pards...since mtb is not really that big a sport yet here in the phils i think at this stage of its development, we should not make it difficult for peeps to join races. in fact medyo mabigat na yung 25 laps...thats 75kms in 12hrs compared to 75kms (same distance) in 24hrs of last endurance race in munti...ok, i will spill it out...baka walang sumaling magagandang chicks..and thats arnels worst fear hahaha! LOL! yeah! maybe later on we can have our own la ruta...pero wag muna heheh! ;D

Hi ! Actually the rules has been released. My thinking is that it seems the minimum number of Laps has not been comparably analyzed on the solo and team member category. Please do your math as we will decide. There is another race also on Dec 15 at Baguio but I consider 12 hr (although my Visa has been approved on this event) due to its proximity.

PinoyMTBiker'ers, Anyone going to the race after lunch by bike?....... We got to take a NAP after lunch . . . . . . . . . then race ? . . . The track is so short and not so Technical ( as I read above ), but you have to bike almost the entire 12 hours. This seems now becoming BORING and TIRING.

Charge those mp3 players because you'll be biking the whole 12hrs even if the track is easy. Nakakabuang yan

Rode half the course last Sunday, gps tracks in green. Red tracks are unfinished portion, based loosely on what the guard says would be completed this week.
Note the hairpin turns, hopefully the organizers can berm them for more fun!
Kudos to Ricky, Boy, and the rest of the Sabak boys for organizing the race and creating this track - hopefully it'll be as nice as the fort one was, but longer. I can now get a quick dirt fix when in Alabang.
Next stop, freeride and pump track on the vacant lot across?

Boys and Girls,
The benevolent SABAK organizers have reviewed and revised their MINIMUM LAP REQUIREMENT for Finishers to :
SOLO Category : 25 laps total Team Category : 36 laps total for the entire 3-pax team with each team rider finishing at least 12 laps
I discussed yesterday and today our previous lap concerns with Boy and Edwin of SABAK ...and they responded favorably this afternoon
This is to repeat and emphasize the changes...so more riders can join this race
Let s support this race, peeps. Thanks SABAK !
