Lung cancer and cirrhosis of the liver kills (fast).
You don't really want to throw your life away that way.
Don't light up contemplating about quitting, Whoopie dear!

Wife is doing fine. Thanks for your positive vibes. Lots of people caring (and sending help). We're going back to the hospital today. The saga continues... Don't worry about me. I've read photography books on Africa, and very much of South Asia (Cambodia, Vietnam, and our very own Phils, and also China, yes). What I'm going through doesn't compare with the horrors the poor go through every single day. Besides, Allegra said he liked my attitude and mental toughness? So I have to put up to that image as well. Lots of young bikers here looking for examples, so we set examples. So, examples meant doing the right thing, even if it pushes us to the limits. To smoke or not to smoke? That is the question P.S. It's not like, I'm saying SMOKING is bad to YOUR health. What I'm saying is.. SMOKING is bad in GENERAL. It's polluting, it's expensive, it's bad habit, it's bad example. Some people can smoke and not get sick. They even live long healthy. People get sick basically of genetic (DNA) instructions, their predisposition to a particular sickness, and the abuse it can take. But if you were genetically superior and can abuse that body, and live a long healthy life, it makes comprehension difficult to other people because there is no logic. So maybe the only real argument for NOT smoking, is to set a good example. Or maybe the reason i'm writing too much is because I love to write, it has nothing to do with accurate information in my post! I'm not smoking, and I feel like going crazy everyday. Some of the sharpest mind smokes... even the surgeons chain smoke, I tell you...

to qwynn, jrzm and lamok, from a smoke junkie who quit and dumped the habit six years ago after almost 32 years of nicotine addiction: 1. NEVER, EVER touch a stick of cigarette. Throw all your cigarettes in your home or office drawers. 2. Avoid, as much as you can, events like drinking sessions, which triggers the urge to smoke again. 3. Have a candy handy in the pocket, it helps once the urge becomes very strong. Drinking a lot of water also helps. 4. Avoid the company of heavy smokers (who don't have any intention of quitting, as well as who wouldn't want you to succeed) they're the No. 1 agent of temptation 5. The first few weeks to the first month is very very hard, like a real steep uphill climb. Go granny hehehe and crank it up. 6. After the first month, the tastebud slowly recovers and food suddenly becomes tasteful. 7. After a couple of months cigarette fume suddenly becomes obnoxious. It's mind over matter, mind game lang yan....kayang-kaya yan. GOOD LUCK and may our tribe of quitters increase. Get into the other addiction.........be an uphill junkie

Good luck guys, I smoked my last stick last september, you can do it!!! :-) Btw, if Im not mistaken Prof Charlie Barkins, was inspired to quit smoking too. I never thought quiting cigs can be this good, coming from a used to be chain smoker. Not smoking is really allot better than smoking, its hard at first but you can do it! :-) Good luck!

i can still remember bongjumper's reaction when i lit a cigarette when we met in UP...oh! hehehe! ;D anyway, thank you bong, arci, harry, guys for the support..we need that. whoopi, believe it or not, i read somewhere that it was one of the techniques employed by doctors before to patients wishing to quit...blow a massive amount of smoke in the person's face using a sort of smoke machine until he can't take it anymore.

since new year's day, i have been limiting myself to seven sticks in the office on ordinary days. why seven sticks? it's the capacity of the cig case my officemate gifted me for christmas. my so-called self-discipline! hehehe! curahee!

My wife and I quit smoking 4 years ago and have been clean ever since, walang daya. It's the best thing you can do for your body. Everything just felt better after a few weeks. And when we both took up biking, the benefits became evident talaga.
Go for it and stand fast, it's just one habit to kick and we could all use the extra money for upgrades for our bikes hehe

I think what makes this quitting thing difficult is that thru the years of smoking, I did it with almost everything else. You know, drinking, hanging out, fixing the bike, after meals, in the crapper, in the car, traffic, coffee break, at the buko stop and at aling pina, etc. etc...
I tried limiting sticks on previous attempt to quit but eventually i went back to almost a pack a day. Cold turkey would be the best way, i guess. Difficult, but doable. Thanks for all the support guys!!!

Suggestion from a non-smoker... Try GUMMI BEARS... I eat them for a different reason. Don't ask why...
