Alryti Creeps and wimps!! !
They are cheap they look great and they get the job done! (And they dont allow picture link for their website!)
So Whats all The fuzz with Suntour?
The Market is flooded with Suntour forks (But not all fork models are available locally) and yearly they have a new line up for this essential part of our bikes. As we all know Suntour was the counterpart of Shimano during the 80's and early 90's until It was gone for reasons I dont give a shi t. And now slowly they are back and seems to be doing pretty well.
For what I know Suntour today is Made in Taiwan, designs I guess are moslty Taiwan, A local barber here told me that Suntour and Marzocchi are made under one roof. could Suntour be copying the all value fork maker Marzocchi? Well What Do i care! They are selling right?
I myself have bought 3 Suntour fork models namely an 04 XCP 75 with lockout, 05 XCP DJ, and currently live! in my bike the 06 XCR. They are so affordable, changing forks yearly is not much of a problem. So as s to my experience with them
Ill continue this tomorrow because I have to take a dump. quick!

hmm...trivia, suntour also makes the low end marzocchi forks for the marzocchi...
if marzocchi decided to put their name on it, must not be that bad...

have tried out bikes with low-end marz forks, mainly the EXRs and seems fairly the same feel with the XCPs and XCRs of Suntour...
I myself still have and use a 02 3" XC75, still good enough, hasn't leaked anything, and mostly still good enough for XC riding....
I'd say for a budget minded XC rider, a suntour fork wouldn't hurt the budget...
if only they're release the Duro forks here, at least there'd be a much cheaper alternative for DJ forks.....

how much would a suntour air fork cost? good question, but I don't think there's any other Suntour fork line available in the PH other than the XCPs and XCRs.....which BTW are for both for XC.....tho XCR is for aggressive XC....tho correct me if I'm wrong... this is one good reason why I can't go big on my DJ bike, since I know the fork (XCR) won't hold up very well for my use... ;D ;D ;D ;D

lance_R_evo: on the contrary, other suntour forks are available here, ie DURO, XC-PRO. See them @ Quiapo ie cycle art etc. XC-PRO around Php8,000+, DURO around Php4,000+

really? there are now Duros here?
must have been only recently, last january I could see any other Suntour forks other than those two I mentioned above....
must get me one of those Duros so I can try it out....for 4k+ couldn't be that wallet-heavy...would fit my urban usage much better than my XCR....and my wife won't scold me for buying it.... ;D ;D ;D

XCR Suntour
I did a downhill run with some downhill guys at B-10 (I think in tagaytay) Its holding pretty well. I just dont if it will last. On Urban ASSault Ok din. But there that big thud when you pull your bike. I guess the rebound is just plain open.

I guess, there's some connection to it... Took time off to deliberately scanned some thing here... And retouch'd it... And if you hadn't have enough, look here: MBA April 2005; page 20 Cheers!

xcr is a pretty descent fork, 4 of my riding buddies use it and they have no qualms about it except that the 120mm advertised travel is only 90mm in reality, still, its a good all around fork and it looks good too. hope some company imports the suntour "Rux" here, its a beefy fork, looks like a replica of marz forks

Onie: No prob man. I've also used an srsuntour fork before, an xcp95 circa 2002. That fork taught me a lot and never failed me, so props to suntour.

XCP forks are quite sturdy. problem is the performance. but i guess that's all you can get for a fork that cost so little. the fork easily bottoms even on the highest setting. - not meant to dampen (pun intended) the spirits of XCP users.

hmm...i think they ought to print the suntour fork manuals in BIG BIG BOLD letters if ever they come with one...but on the second thought...oh well forget about it...noypi nga pala tayo..may agimat ang dugo.

I also had the same fork... until fad got the best of me. ;D I'm actually setting my eyes on the suntur XCR with travel adjust if it is available here. I bet it will be cheaper with the same performance from marz.

my first bike (a hardtail) was assembled with an xcp95 back in 2002, my bike now (a full sus) has practically new parts except for the cranks and the suntour fork--never had it serviced (ok, i should) since i bought it and it still functions pretty well!
