sorry to butt in, but da bomb rims are heavier than DX32's yup i agree. with your weight at 120lbs., DX32s are already fine with you... even the singletracks are also a good choice... just my 2 cents....

[glow=yellow,10,300]Well, I think you guys are goin' for the issue of lighter rims. I bought da bomb coz' I've bent most of my rims. I was leaning towards double track but I know I'll destroy it. My 2nd option was Mavic 321 (which I think is the best and lighter, but more expensive). I end up buying Da Bomb which cost P1,500 each and still holds true. I always compensate on additional grams for wheelsets, forks, cranks, B.B.s and frames for my riding style and 200lbs body coz I don't want accidents caused by equipment failures. So it's up to you guys to evaluate your preferences... Im just suggesting tough parts for value. [/glow]

hi guys!!! I'm trying to build an all-purpose bike, one that i can use for a bit of travelling and heavy urban punishing with dirt jumping. here are the parts line-up i've thought of so far.... Frame: SC Chameleon or DaBomb XLR8R Fork: Marzo z1 DO or Fox Vanilla (depends on budget, really) Hubs: XT or hybrid (DaBomb rear and XT front) Rims: Sun Single Track Pwede na kaya yan? Can it stand abuse? I want it to be as light as possible sana....I weigh 120lbs or so. Your thoughts and suggestions will be highly appreciated!!! This is a very good setup..actuall hi-end na sya esp on the frame and fork side..for dirt jumping platform that is For a 120lbs rider you will never be ablte to destroy this bike unless you hit more than 40ft of air ;D comment ko lang, dont like the choice of rims though..go with ALEX, mura na matibay pa! ;D

alex DX32 user here ;D i weigh 170 lbs and use my bike as hard as i can and it holds up very well.
about the weight between the da bomb da rim -vs- alex, the latter is lighter, i was about to buy the darim but i noticed that the DX32 was lighter, cheaper, and is really tough ;D although the da bomb is as equally tough, it depends on weight and price preference for the consumer
besides, Alexrims won't get Norco's endorsement as their recommended rims for nothing ;D

that's a hi-end setup indeed, i swear by your choice of fork, the Z1 drop off, will definitely hold it's own, but i second Bullit, get the alexrims instead of the single track (my apologies to those who pay homage to single tracks ;D)
i once got info of a santa cruz chameleon (one of my dream HT's) and it's a shade under 20k, expensive for a HT, the xlr8r is just way half the price of the chameleon, even less when there's a good second hand (i think raven's selling one for 6k, a steal in it's price) and is also a diecast HT frame hehehe
anyway yoyee, it's your call which do you prefer, at any rate that setup's gonna kick a** ;D

Alien and tenacious, do you think the Imperial is worth the price? Why say so? I mean it looks great with the semi-monocoque design, strudy plus good geometry! but HELLoo alost Php40K for a hardtail? kasi sa US market normal lang and price nya compared to SC chameloen/Jackal, Specialized P3, Banshee Morphine, Orange DJ, Kona Kowan, Yeti DJ etc..kasi all of them are at the $500 US markup.. pero for the prices we get HT frames here its too much!!! Isn't it?

i think DX32 are lighter than da bomb!!!!! i second the DX32!!! Lighter than dabomb rims! so what's the point of getting dabomb rims while they are more expensive!!! Believe it or not i have 4 pairs of DX32's kasi nagkaroon ng shortage sa stock b4, kaya nag stock up ako..hehe! ;D They are the last rims i will ever go for

Malate DJ comming from Quirino Ave is after SOGO and in front of Ambasador hotel (is that name correct). Its covered in some roofing material like asbestos. There is a gate in the left (facing it).
I believe people come there every afternoon and mornings on weekends.
