Yo Bobet, Ok, if your getting off at the Filinvest exit (this is before the Alabang exit (flyover), temp opening because they're renovating the old Filinvest exit), follow road till you intersect w/ the Alabang-Zapote road (main hi-way) turn right, follow road past Mcdo (leftside), Shell (rightside), (btw this is where Cycling Zone is, inside the shell station) turn left on acacia st (landmark Isuzu Alabang) turn right at stop light, then t-left (this is Daang Hari road) follow road till you see a road forking left (about 6-7 kms) . At the corner will be the infamous "daang hari lespu station" this is the starting point of most rides in the munti area, you will see lots of cars w/ bike racks. You will need a guide to show you the track. I can guarantee that it is safe to bike alone but what I am worried about is that you won't be able to do the track read properly. Its quite tricky for 1st timers. specially in the remote single-tracks. But if you have the map and can ask around when your there you just might succeed. Too bad you won't be able to make it Sun morn. I'm sure a lot of people will be track-reading. I will be there, and on Sat morn as well. Try asking Arnel (alphabolt) he usually rides in the afternoon. Tofi, but from the lespu Station how do we get to Victoria Gate?

Just follow the road along the lespu Station, that is dead end where you will see the Victoria gate on the left. You won't missed it coz the end it has a road block. By the way just ask any biker there knows the Victoria Gate. Actually this is the route going to SLEX so very popular.

the course is awesome. never a dull moment. the single tracks are tacky and demands a lot of braking and shifting specially if you're gonna over take a couple of riders. i was a bit surprised. a lot of female riders on this year's race compared to last years. probably becoz they see a lot of potentila for the mixed team category. also, a lot of people showed up, participants or not. so much so that the organizers ran out of participant number tags. meaning the race is limited to the number of participant number tags at hand. some folks still wanted to participate in the race but since there were no number tags, they ended up at the sidelines. so next time, register in advance. overall: the race is superb. . two thumbs up from the organizers. i'd like to thank the following: sir radical1962 for the fried chicken. its the best KFC i've ever had. allan for the zipties. paul for helping buy the most cost efficient lighting system. sup for the red horse. lansky for the imodium. tolits for the spaghetti. bruce for the pasta with pesto sauce. arnel for the barbeque. thanks to those that provided all the food, gatorade, water and snacks during the race. thanks to our tent provider. i didnt bother asking but without it, life at the campsite would be impossible. and in case i forgot to thank anybody, thank you thank you thank you. also, i'd like to thank the organizers for letting us ride on the race course even if we were not contestants in the race. so, can somebody post some pics?

The race course was great!
I didn't thought that it was very difficult doing the event without a support group . . . lessons learned.

The race course was great! I didn't thought that it was very difficult doing the event without a support group . . . lessons learned. I totally agree and I have been doing it for 2 years now. The only time you can take a very efficient break is when your supplies run empty. Nice to see the PinoyMTBiker boys and girls. It was a very good race. Unfortunately for me, I had to bail out really early because of a hamstring problem. I managed to do half of the race (17 laps for almost 12hrs with 2 dumb@$$ falls). It was fun and challenging. There were lots of 'halimaws' especially the BMB crew and our PinoyMTBiker hardcore riders.

Its hard to rest when you still have to prepare your drinks, food, etc. But we were glad we still managed to make the minimum number of rounds, and i didn't suffer a terrible accident unlike last year.

personally, i think this year's course is tougher than last year's...single tracks abound..a good memory was a very good advantage esp during the night...i overshot a portion several times hehe!...there's no hike a bike portion in la mesa.

Guys, which is more difficult, this year's race or last year's? it depends, last years race was hard on the legs, many climbs, and high speed descents, this year's more of a technical course with 60% singletracks. i guess the race's difficulty will depend on the rider , i like both of it.

Heheh...yeah same here I biked passed the barely visible route markers leading to the stream crossing .....twas about hmmm 100meters until we hit a dead end...there were three of us . all strangers ..we looked around and the shrubs and patches of grass looked the same . I made a U turn and pedaled back ...ayun! saw the itsy bitsy trail and a few route flags (dark blue and white is not a good combo) ..civilisation! but you gotta love the single tracks after the perimeter wall , huh! flowing relief!

I was not fully charged in this race, so were my teammates. We were not able to sleep properly the night before the race day because of problem with our transportation Anyway, its nice to see the kareristas (retz, jimmy, thumbie, etc), BMB, other bikers, and of course the PinoyMTBiker people again

Guys, which is more difficult, this year's race or last year's? personally, i found last year's creepier at night because you really felt like you were in the woods ala blair witch project and thus "harder" to ride from 2-5am...this year's had more open space...on the other hand the same open space made it hotter during the day as last year was canopied

My calves never felt this sore before, lower back pains, jell-o thighs, saddle sore, etc.. I'm still recovering. Bikes are still dirty. Glad I made the quota, it was a personal accomplishment. The race was hard (for me, a biker who just learned how to 'spin' at the night of the race ;D), but the company and atmosphere at the PinoyMTBiker tent was more than enough to make up for the challenge. Thank you all for everything!

Hopefully by next year's race PinoyMTBiker can form a contingent who will be capable of riding with the BMB even just for the 1st 12 hours Those guys are really outstanding!
