add ko rin weight shifting, crouch in preparation of lifting the front, once lifted try to lean a little bit forward to lighten the rear you'll be surprise both wheel are suspended at a convincing height few inches at first, and upon landing u once again shift ur weight back to land the rear tire first....basta continous practice lang...mas mainam kung me obstacle to clear (carton box, small rock for a start, anything to hop on) to improve more of the air time i agree na mahirap sya gawin. i've been practicing pero i can't even lift my front to clear a moderately high gutter. Normally nbubunggo ko yung gutter before ako mkaakyat. I think this technique would also be helpful in clearing drops by landing the bike on both wheels at the same time. GOD HELP!!! gusto ko pa naman matuto ng manual........ ;D

hi babydoll, I'm no expert when it comes to this thing, but good riders advice me to shift my weight on the back wheel before you hop...so you won't bump your front wheel on the gutter...It's like, coast, shift weight to front for the preload, before hitting the obstacle, shift weight at your back at the same time pull your handle bar towards your chest or hips if its so high, to end in a like-number one form, vertically inclined. then in the air, push your bike up as high as you can to clear the obstacle. now you must straighten your arms for control and absorb the impact before landing, putting your butt behind your wheel. so the form is like that before you drop your front wheel to the ground...remember, land rear wheel first...hope you could visualize my explanaiton PS visualize this again, coast-transfer weight infront for preload-pull handlebar towards you at the same time tranfer weight on the back of the bike-hop-form number 1-push up as high as you can, absorb impact rear wheel first then coast again hope I help

ika nga: practice makes permanent, so don't practice it the wrong way Don't hop with two wheels at the same time Don't hop using primarily your body, use the bike like a lever Do learn to manual first even if it were only a foot, thats all you need Do manual longer before hopping so it will look cool hehe Do learn to bunnyhop from static hehehe Wow babydollkat, a very low tap *= cool, in my case when I jump curbs I love to bang the rear tire as a signal to tuck or jump. *tap = jumping on an obstacle using the tapping of the front tire to boost height, in this case without the pedal kick hehe

take a good look at the ryan leech video at 32 seconds. he bunny hops the bike while standing beside it. as you can see he lifts the front end then the back end using only the handlebars. this shows that the correct method has nothing to do with using the pedals to "lift" the back end.
maybe practicing this "off the bike" bunny hop will help one understand the correct method. the next step would be to do the same thing while riding the bike.

good ideas and steps had been given in performing bunny hop and as mentioned practice makes perfect however during practice hops never ever forget to always be safe, wear helmet and shin protectors.

It took me a while to bunnyhop. riding a bmx bike would be a big help to get the feel of the hop sequence. You first need to learn how to shift your weight back so that your front wheel is up. The front suspension can help a lot for this step. Try practicing this move first. If you've managed to lift the front wheel so much that you are staying on your rear wheel for some time (manual), then you can shift your weight forward by pulling your bars toward your hips. If you've managed to do this, you must then tuck your legs and pus the bars away from your hips. It will take a lot of practice to learn the bunnyhop. Just be patient
