i would say that i'm not an aggressive rider - so i'm just happy using an ordinary pair of knee and elbow pads i got from Toby's it's my minimum protection against scratches on minor crashes but not on the major ones ;D fortunately, i haven't gotten into major crashes yet but i really think it's worthy to invest in these 661 protective gears 661 Chicken Wing Elbow Guard661 Veggie Knee Wrapthe above models does not contain hard shells - so it's somewhat comfy to use

sorry to dig this up. haven't seen any generic brand which is a shin/knee guard. skateboard knee guards are a bit long though it reaches to about a third on your shin, but it won't protect you from your pedals I'm using these: Fox raptor it's meant for motocross, but i use it during urban commutes. normally priced at 2500, but i can show you where to get it cheap here's a pic of how it's attached and the knee area bends like this

woo10g, he he he, naaah not 60% but you can get it for less than 2K, then make a little negotiation and it might even go lower. Park square 1 brad. There's a little tiangge near Hahn, get them pads before the tiangge moves out. okay i might as well put a review on this: what i can say so far is total protection because of 1) i know it wall fall off because of the sturdy buckles and the 3 points of garter 2) it bends on the knee area 3) see that black part on the knee? it's actually floating, the distance from the black plastic is about 3/4 of an inch to your knee. in which your knee won't hit the pad in case of impact 4) it's built for Motocross (MX) the foam pads are washable, they attached using riveted buttons to the plastic, so no more excuse for smelly pads. problem is, the adjustment is still velcro and the rough part of the velcro rubs on your skin. if you wear pants, it's not a problem, but if you wear shorts, you might not want it. solution for this is to fabricate your own protection against that. what i did is get an old denim, and sew a tubular piece and slide it into the garters another way to do it if you want to keep it light is get those stretchable materials like your old felix bakat shorts. sew a tube that will fit the garters of the pads
