yeah, i take pride in surviving my weekly 34kms trip to and fro the trailhead more than surviving the actual trail ride.

Good thing you could still laugh after that ..fracture.. brad Yeah those jeepney drivers are the pits...I always stay on the defensive vs them ..always wala pambayad at wala awa (specially pagsolo ka) mga yun Speaking of crashes...I had a bad one right at my own backyard...was trying the log hop (cleats on) a curb...the curb won banged me up pretty bad ...and I was guilty of not wearing a helmet ...sigh was spinning around the backyard to test mech-adjusted bike...then the disastrous loghop attempt heheh Things happen when you least expect em...how true

i treat every jeepney as moving obstacles ;D ;D i guess being a seasoned car driver has an advantage when it comes to urban riding coz your used to the behaviors of vehicles

for one thing, i fear FX drivers more than jeepney drivers. both will cut you when a passenger hails them. but the FX has doors. at least with a jeep, worst case is you'll end up inside the jeep. with FX, a door will smack you

sad to say i cant say the same things guys, this just happened to me recently . i was taking my daily morning biking when this dickhead motorcycle cut me off and hit me on the right arm which sent me swerving like a piss drunk cow and what made it worse is that the guy didnt even bother to look back or just check if i was alright, which really ticked me off, so i hurriedly mounted my bike to go after him and i was lucky enough that it was a red light, so i positioned myself beside him and ask him whats his problem? dont you know you hit me back there? and he replied "ang tanga mo kasi! bakit dehins ka tumabi para dehins ka tamaan!" and so without saying anything i waited for the light to turn green and quickly kicked his motorcycle to the ground which sent him sprawling like a turned over turtle. i felt good.....

jeepney drivers have no utmost respect for cyclists on the road...its a proven fact. i always have my almost daily share of near accidents caused by jeepney drivers plying their own road (they really own the road). ;D ;D ;D yesterday at EDSA cor Q. Ave on my way home this jeep I guess wasnt happy that some jeeps were ahead of him picking up passengers. To think that there was Q for jeeps he just cut me off left me with an inch away from that overpass (under was the Q Ave. underpass). Slammed the brakes and he just sped away coz he and his passengers noticed that I yelled real loud and was put into a bad situation. Jeepney drivers' #1 rule...never ever mess with a biker when its traffic. Well at the intersection I met up with him slapped his side mirror real hard and told him to drive intelligently (I was barking a the wrong tree)...he never understood what I said. Bakit kaya? He wasnt able to catch me I was turning left to Agham. ;D I drive my car too but when I see a cyclist even if he is carrying hammer/saw/his stainless lunch box...I give em equal spacing for them to pedal w/o danger. I hope jeepney drivers would do the same... Now anyone here selling retractable batons with built in pepper spray??? ;D ;D ;D

a similar situation happened to my brother in Q Ave but not with a jeepney driver. he was side swiped by a car and almost his hit head in the sidewalk. he grabbed the nearest rock he could find, caught with the driver in traffic, stopped in front of the car, smashed the rock in the hood and biked the opposite direction. imagine the guy so surprised and didn't even know what hit him. hard lesson for not respecting the rules of the road.

Jeepney drivers.... it happens when we reach Mc Arthur Highway before the Santa Rita Exit... my friend and I decided to have a late afternoon ride... while we were approching Santa Rita...A driver who's more of an A-hole pass but he didn't continue instead tried to cut us...I suddenly clutch my rear wheel brake levers...as I saw my friend who was being pushed to the gutter by this jeep...he suddenly fell and rolled for a few times... when i run to him and check if his OK....with no broken bones but bloody as hell... he quickly picked his bike and rode again...knowing his intention to chase the jeep... luck is on our side...because it's already past 5PM....RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC... the jeep was not moving...my friend drag the driver out of his jeep...because of what had happen...my adrenaline is pumping in a way it never did... when the jeepney driver is already standing on his feet...cursing at us...insulted from the words his speaking of, and I was so pissed off...I walked slowly to where hi is standing...a loud solid slap like sound was heard....I landed a winner straight into his nose....after I made a quick call to my buddies at plaridel and Guiginto our back-up arrived...the crowd who's watching the commotion help us to call for brgy tanods...good thing my pal only suffered bruises, Sorry for that driver...he has a series of record...

i also had a series of run-ins with such a--hole PUV drivers. well, if i'm in the same situation as nell- i wouldn't hesitate to do that and beat the hell out of that scumbag. especially, i'm being the one aggraved.
yes, being a motorist would help to anticipate the behavior of such low-lifes. they seemed to have no respect to other road users. even those who are in 4-strokes were st*pid. i had a run-in with some too. one in particular has tried to make me fell off my rig by hitting and cutting me in fork. d@mn. but didn't fell off, instead i stopped and picked a rock then try to catch up. the let loose of the rock in my hand. the rock is about 3 inches long and 1 inch thick. hit him in the back with full force. he didn't have the chance to get back at me as he was crossing the intersection at that time.

Yap..Those driver are uneducated. But we dont have to be always laughing and nodding after they cut us. I think the best way is support a fellow biker if you saw one in that situation, so those fool will know that we are one..Just my idea.but cautious is the best way for a safer ride..
