hey not bad. considering the everyday Juan needs only this type of camera.
but does this mean....it's ready for underwater shots, or it's already waterproof?

ALLAN, i don't think it's waterproof (no market there i think, hasn't nikonos stopped production?). i think the UW settings are just that, settings. maybe compensates for low lighting conditions underwater.
but 18x optical zoom! man.

@roche, thanks, he he he
hmm....it's a tad overkill for the everyday Juan, but i like it, he he he. the links on the review you gave says it compensates for some problems. although i still like it. 18x optical without an extra lens...that says a lot. i'm gonna save up for this one.

ALLAN, i agree, goes a bit beyond the usual requirements for a point-and-shoot (i mean, how close do you need to zoom if you're just attending a binyag di ba?), but this would be a great companion outdoors and in travels specially on a bike--as you said, without the bulky lens. the reviews say resolution is lowered when you try to use the super-features like the 15fps burst, but i can live with that, rare would i need to do that anyway, it isn't everyday someone's doing quick jumps in front of me that i need to capture; or if you try shooting in ISO5000 daw, but i rarely go beyond ISO400 anyway (Auto Auto Auto hehehe). what hurts is this baby costs 30% less than what i paid for my olympus c750 years ago (yeah, it's depreciated well but still), and mine can only manage 10x optical zoom (though at the time it was supreme among all point-and-shoot digital cams). you gotta hand it to olympus talaga. BTW, SUGO tipped me off on this one, he said in tipidpc some guy is selling brand new of these at Php18K. if that wouldn't floor you

BTW, it says in the specs F2.8-4.5 lang, is that worrisome? my c750 can go at least up to f8.0.

oh really....18K? ? there's goes my savings for a bike frame, ha ha ha ha. same here, i only go as far as ISO400. i don't even play with the manual settings (too lazy). normally i play with the shooting modes only.

Hmm...
28-504mm retractable lens ISO 5000 built-in stabilizer ability to save as JPG or RAW and many more features...
It's a mighty cute gadget! and the price is very nice!
