sooner or later you're going to receive a chain email regarding this:
and here's the claim (a thread of emails daw):
well here's what i have to say, the image is true and authentic but the claim of the email starter is a hoax! here's what i conluded:
evidence 1: The use of night vision peripherals. Why? Because night vision peripherals dosen't even make this kind of high quality image. Night vision uses infrared light and the camera uses a special infrared sensitive sensor. So how would the image look like? It would either be black&white OR green. and the image would look like you're using a flashlight on your subject and everything else in the surrounding looks clear, if not, just enough to be recognized. and take note, you could see things clearly up to 200 yards (183m), beyond that, it's not just that clear. And even if they do have this super high tech color producing daylight mimicing night vision peripheral, it would be the military who would have them first. But even the military dosent have this kind of gadget. Don't believe me? do some researching...
evidence 2: the starter of this email said that the image was taken on May 21, 2006 at 2am. My defense... in my research, i found out that the first image was taken exactly at May 8, 2006 at 11:16am and the second image at 11:17am. The ISO used is 50, a film sensitivity good enough for picturing on broad daylight. The shutter speed used was 1/800 sec, it's just tooooooo fast for a camera shooting at ISO-50 even if you're using a night vision camera. Conclusion, it's taken on daylight.
evidence 3: the final evidence, the starter said it was taken using his/her Sony Power Shot. First defense, Sony does not have any Power Shot model, Power Shot belongs to the Canon line of digital camera, Sony is using CyberShot. Second defense, Sony's digital imaging does not use P as the start of their image, they always start with DSC. So clearly, he does not know his camera or he made this thing up. and my final defense, the camera used was..... Olympus C-5000Z.
pretty amusing noh?! hehehe at first glance i knew the image was real, but the claims where false. I just dug deep on to the other evidence to prove my claim. I just can't make out where it was taken. As for that flying creature, as for my opinion, it's a bird of an unknown kind. or better yet, ask the REAL person who took this image, NOT the one who started this email... anyway, go ahead and pass it on, it's nice! I know that the one who started this email has nothing sensible to do, pero pinatulan ko narin since i'm bored and don't know what to do... at least i did something sensible. ahhaha
do you have any other emails that you think is a hoax? share it to us. ;D
