To be more exact: Cogito Ergo Sum. My personal favorite is Marx. he said: "philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways; the point however is to change it." Moving if you ask me.

Staring at the back of the pickup truck... (oops sorry spoiler) Tear jerker tale. I think I almost thought it wasn't fiction when I read it back then.

Marcos' TADHANA: History of the Filipino People. boss, IMHO, i guess ts good because it exposes the corrupt practices of previous filipino leaders which we were lead to believe as "heroes" (starting from quezon up to marcos), its a kind of eye-opener for me because i've always adored the previous presidents of our country and meron pala silang mga dark sides. the book doesn't only center on the over/underground activities of marcos but all leaders well before him.

Pards , I think that was the movie ending Sa Book it was the musician narrating the last days of the bida who I forgot the name Yup, A lot of people thought it was true , kasi Nat Geo had to take a lot of calls from people wanting to know about their fictional photgrapher

The inner game of golf - I dont play golf nor intend to play Pero this book deals w/ using you mind to get peak performance from of yur body I don't play golf.. anymore. But the books of Jack Niclaus are very interesting read. It talks about mental attitude and common sense approach to the game of life... To reach a higher level of performance, one must learn the mental game. Any sport, that is.

wasn't Dune recently made by HBO into a mini-series? yeah I like that PC game DUNE, I think it's the mother of all realtime strategy games. Really? I hope I could get the series in a DVD. The movie was a flop though. Didn't do justice to the book! Too shallow the transition, I guess...

I'm fond of reading Mafia (mob) stories.. "La Cosa Nostra". Id finished Rise and Fall of the Gambino Crime Family, Godfather w/c they claim was fictional, Gotti and Bonano (Banana War). Right now I'm reading Mob Lawyer by Frank Ragano and Selwyn Raab foreword by Nicholas Pileggi... This books includes the inside account who killed Jimmy Hoffa and JFK.
Still thirsty for more.. Hope there's someone who own some Capo di Tutti i Capi stories.. Please dont hesitate to share it with me.. I will treasure that for all of my life..

www.amazon.com/Beyond-Limits-Ranulph-Fiennes/dp/0316857068/ref=si3_rdr_bb_product/104-9072957-9119168just finishing BEYOND THE LIMITS by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, "the world’s most celebrated contemporary adventurer and explorer". just look at the pics if you've no time to read the text. which is what i was doing at the book shop until i couldn't bear it and had to buy the book anyway. ;D this guy circumnavigated the globe pole to pole, during the days (70s) before satellites and GPS mapped every corner of the planet. those days it took them years just planning an expedition, because so many things were unknown. nowadays you can know so many things remotely, you don't even have to go[/b] anymore. and then this morning on my way to work carole king (or is it carly simon?) was singing So far away / Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?. and i thought heck, why would anyone want to?

one of the best books i've read was one by kahlil gibran. read a lot of tom clancy and grisham, even the worst read in my life two books by dan brown (what title was that?) right now i read the holy bible....a verse a day for guidance I'm gonna bet 0.02 one of the books by Dan Brown you have is titled Angels and Demons. The storyline is similar to his other book titled Da Vinci Code, which has become a bestseller despite and inspite of its controversial influence to people's faith, or the lack of it. I can understand why you said it was the worst read. Stories like these are not for the unenlightened. It affects (and probably destroys) a delicate value called faith. It's like watching movies about the devil. The more you watch those kind of movies, the stronger the devil becomes. Guess who's enjoying when people enjoy producing these kind of work of confusion and destruction of the mind and spirit?

i'm reading books by nelson demille right now and here are the list:
By the Rivers of Babylon
Two Concorde jets take off for a U.N. conference that will finally bring peace to the Middle East. Covered by F-14 fighters, accompanied by security men, the planes carry warriors, pacifists, lovers, enemies, dignitaries - and a bomb planted by a terrorist mastermind.
The Charm School
On a dark road deep inside Russia, a young American tourist picks up a most unusual passenger - a U.S. POW on the run with an incredible secret to reveal to an unsuspecting world. The secret concerns "The Charm School," a vast and astounding KGB conspiracy that stands poised against the very heartland of America.
Word of Honor
He is a good man, a brilliant corporate executive, an honest, handsome family man admired by men and desired by women. But a lifetime ago, Ben Tyson was a lieutenant in Vietnam. There, the men under his command committed a murderous atrocity - and swore never to tell the world what they had done.
he is also the author of
The General's Daughter
Teamed with rape specialist Cynthia Sunhill, with whom he once had a tempestuous, doomed affair, Paul Brenner is about to learn just how many people were sexually, emotionally, and dangerously involved with the army's "golden girl."

Guess who's enjoying when people enjoy producing these kind of work of confusion and destruction of the mind and spirit? [drums rolling... dum-dum-dum-dum-dum]... The DEVIL himself!!! Remember in the Harry Potter story, the more people fear to mention his name, the stronger his influence becomes? It's like the bully at school, the more everybody fears him, the bolder he becomes! do graphic novels and local comics count? Probably. That's for him to know and for us to find out!

This month: Freakonomics by Levitt and Dubner - Interesting views on the actual, and not ideal world. Virtue of Selfishness by Ayn Rand - a must read, i feel, for the conservative time bomb waiting to explode - might change views. Your best life now by Pastor Joel Osteen - very emotional journey for me.
Best book of all time: Action Asia - guide to the Philippines - lots of surfing sites, trekking areas, adventure places, adventure sports per area, and places to explore on a bike. Its my adventure Bible. Much better than lonely planet.
Any good non-fiction books to read?

Any good non-fiction books to read? finished FREAKONOMICS a few weeks back. fascinating stuff. levitt is a bit like malcom gladwell (TIPPING POINT). what non-fiction stuff are you interested in? i just finished Bill Bryson's A WALK IN THE WOODS, a sometimes-humorous account of his hike along the Appalachian Trail. the fun stuff tapered towards the end, when he got caught up in barbed commentaries about how the US National Park Service is bungling their jobs. i'm also into science essays lately, those written for the layman. last weekend i had 30 minutes to kill and wandered into a Booksale outlet in my little province, and came upon a paperback titled THE SECRET LIFE OF LOBSTERS. it's about the lobsters in Maine, how they sense their world by squirting piss onto each other's faces, how the big lobsters bully the smaller ones in the neighborhood every morning like clockwork, how the baby lobsters are called superlobsters because they swim around with claws extended in front of them like superman. really fascinating stuff ;D
