Back in 1981 I bought a really nice acoustic guitar in Montreal, Canada, Epiphone PR765. Carried it all over the place, finally got stolen in Manila in the early 90s (die, pig, die). Didn't have the cash for a really good one then, just got something kind of ok and made do, but always dreamed... Dreams do come true. A friend of a friend in the US owns a shop, agreed to pick out the right instrument at good value. A FedEx pilot friend in Subic agreed to get it here. It took a while but here she is... Guild F50R, Spruce on Rosewood, used but about perfect condition, sweet on the hands and oh my what a sound.... One of the few things on earth as cool as a good bike!

Sweet guitar! Sexy! Is it a steel or the classical guitar. Sorry to ask sir. Can't notice the difference between them. Have fun playing them! Thanks for sharing those beauty. Thanks.

Very good craftsmanship. Selected materials like mother of pearl and the wood is the heart and soul for sound definition,,like a signature.
Congrats!

East Indian Rosewood back and sides, Canadian Sitka spruce top, African ebony bridge and fretboard, South American mahogany neck and headstock... a global symphony of forest destruction!

Love your guitar especially the pick guard and the fret board. I can just imagine how good it sounds. I have been dreaming/wanting to own a Taylor or a Matin for quite sometime now. Need to improve my skills (save the money of course) to deserve those guitars.

Steel string, always and of course... Nylon strings are like.... like road bikes! good analogy, hehehe ;D. awesome guitar steve. you're one satisfied guitar player. im one really sick guitar player unfortunately. like my bikes, i used to have 4 guitars at one time. 2 electric guitars, 1 steel acoustic and a classical. i'd spend more money on my electric guitar and even the gadgetry but nothing compares to a simple, high quality, acoustic guitar. the sound it makes lasts a lifetime. i bet you can still remember the sound of your first guitar that was stolen. with an electric, you can define the sound but sometimes its hard to remember that sound with all the setups you can do with it. so if im gonna start playing a guitar again, i might end up with an acoustic. cheers steve.

I have been dreaming/wanting to own a Taylor or a Matin for quite sometime now. I honestly think Martins are overpriced. Really nice guitars, for sure, but there's a massive name premium built into the pricing. Out of the major makers I think Guild has a lot to offer in terms of value... but if you're serious about buying, try to shop on the US second hand market, if you can make a way. So many more choices, and the prices are reasonable. MSRP on the guitar I bought is $2800, I paid exactly half of that for a 2 year old one in perfect condition. Expensive, yes, but if you treat a guitar like that right it will last a lifetime and more, and life is too short to play crappy guitars!

I have an electric, an old Charvel wired through a Marshall 40V, no gadgets or anything, the Marshall is the old one with the big 12" Celestion speaker... that's what defines the sound! Makes a lot of noise. But an electric... you almost have to play it with other people, for solo play at home there's nothing like a good acoustic.
