Back in the good ol' 60s we had Pepsi & Coke but here was also Canadian Dry, UVA, Apple Cidra (or was it Sidra?) and in the 70s, RC Cola. Not in cans but in real glass bottles. And straws then were made of paper, not plastic.
It was a kid's haven back then because everything that mattered to a child was "LIMA-SINGKO" (5pcs for 5 centavos)- candy, chitcharon, trading cards, even firecrackers (triangulos).
But the thing I remember well about TV ads back then was that almost all of the ads were American. Some had popular jingles/ slogans:
M&M ("Melts in your mouth, not in your hand") Transworld Airlines ("Would you like to fly in my beautiful balloon...") Coke ("Its the real thing...") Camel cigarettes ("I'd walk a mile for a Camel...")
and a lot more others like Pall Mall cigarettes, Camaro (the car), Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pan American Airlines, Lucky Strike, RCA (TVs) , Zenith (TVs), Goodyear, Sylvania, Firestone, etc.
Ah, those were the days...

I'm glad you guys liked it!!! As I said, I spent 2 hours youtubing these commercials and it brings back memories of yesteryears. jaymz, the Levi's commercial I remember are 2 horses trying to pulling the jeans apart. And yes, lima singko, who can forget. Candies were stored in those glass jars in your favourite Sari Sari store. Try typing "Pinoy memories" in you tube and you'll see tons of TV ads from the past.

one of the best tv commercials i liked during the ear was coca-cola "i'd like to teach the world to sing" ad. several of the commercials i could still recall were the ones of: 680 home appliance (with rod navarro and the midgets inside the box), the ajax ad featuring elizabeth ramsey and her famous line "magpapatuka nalang ako sa ahas (i'd rather be bitten by a snake)", the choo-choo junction ad, the lea salong klim commercial, and the gard charlie balakubak commercial. curahee!

680 home appliance (with rod navarro and the midgets inside the box), the choo-choo junction ad curahee! Eventhough I was born in the late 1970's I remember the 680 commercial. I think this played up the early 80's. How can I forget the "Delivery ho Misis" tag line. I wasn't able to see the choo cho junction ad, but I really miss their spaghetti! I miss those times when my parents would bring us to choo choo junction greenhills after doing countless of laps on those coin operated rides in Greenhills.

these are indeed classic commercial sir yukon.... i recall seeing some of these in our black & white tv cabinet type, tapos rotary and pag-dial ng channel (na lima lang; bbc2, mbs4, gma7, rpn9, and ibc 13) ;D ofcourse being the seventies, i hope youtube also have the ff.: jaworski's timex watch commercials (timex, the tough watch!), and cervesa negra. francis arnaiz' brenda margarine.... ("..sa brenda ang sarap, sa brenda ang ligaya....") obviously a toyota fan... except for the walktall jeans, i cant recall products endorsed by individual crispa players via tv commercials...
