i'm guessing you're using XP or something.... wag lang LINUX.... di ko alam yan ;D and if not highly modified ang windows mo.... go to 'my computer'.... left handside column you will see: systems tasks... other places... there you will see 'control panel' HTH

my share quite long... requires a good long patience Right click on your task bar and select properties, then click the Start Menu tab. Now click the customize button, and finally the Advanced tab. Control Panel is the very first item listed, make sure it is set to be displayed. If this does not work, you can get to the control panel in the meantime by simply typing Control Panel into your address bar or run dialog. but on my observation you're infected by spyware ( usually, it comes with pop-up of the internet that somebody had accidentally clicked on).......... it would be better if you scan you computer with anti-spyware software but first you have to download and install it. www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html?tag=lst-1give us an update.... question: how many icons you've got beside your "clock".... tip: as much as possible keep it to 5 icons or below.... too many of that can cause slowness in your computer when booting to desktop.

I think the best recourse is to reformat the dang harddisk.
Make several partitions, say, 20GB - 50GB per partition. Install the operating system in drive C (no choice). save your data in drive D install applications in drive E ... install games in drive G
Something like that.
Next time the operating system gets buggy, simply reinstall the operating system on top of the old one. If it doesn't fix the problem, reformat C and install from scratch. and reinstall all applications that requires reinstalling.
That way you don't lose data or saved games since you didn't place them in drive C.

encountered the same prob before, disabled taskmanager and control panel..this help me restore it..
In case you accidentally disable the Control Panel by using any of the Windows Tweaking program, that mean you no longer be able to access your Windows Control Panel, and all *.cpl files (Control Panel Program and including some of the Tweaking Program itself) in your computer will be disabled. You cannot do any setting in your computer seems you cannot run the Control Panel program, this is nightmares.
In order to recover or repair your Windows Control Panel, you need to edit your Windows Registry, because these Tweaking Program is actually change the setting in Windows Registry to achieve the objective. You don't need to format your computer if you want to recover your Control Panel, and you also don't need to re-install your Operating System (OS) because it wouldn't help at all.
Ok so how do we repair it? Be patient people, I'm now will show you the method. First of all you must need how to run the Registry Editor.
To run the Registry Editor, click on 'Start' button, its locate at the left bottom of your screen guys. Click on 'Run' and the 'Run' program will show up, type in 'regedit' in the Open file without the ''. And then the Registry Editor will show up, as you will see, there are 6 main keys. Ignore the rest, go to find the main key named HKEY_CURRENT_USER and double click on it, and you will be able to see there are many child keys stick under that main key. Now follow the sequence below to go inside the place where we have to do something:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
The last key you must open is Explorer, click on the Explorer and you will see many Binary Value on the right hand side windows, locate the Binary Value key named NoControlPanel and NoRestriction and delete them.
After you have deleted those 2 keys, close your Registry Editor and reboot your computer and you will happy to see your Control Panel back to you.
Please refer to the table below for summary:
1 Click on Start button 2 Click on Run Type 'regedit' without the ' '. 3 Open key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer and Delete NoControlPanel and NoRestriction. 4 Reboot
You can actually learn many thing from your Windows Registry if you willing to spend a little time to play around it, but you should be careful because if you delete the important key your computer system will be interrupt, and that's a serious problem. Play it with caution.
