Greetings! Anybody knows at least the basic of 3DS Max? So, we could brainstorm a bit... Actually, have started last year dilly-dallying it by my own. But it's monstrously hard even just makin' a simple animation of geometric shapes... Maybe, i need a seat in 3DS Max classes. Hehehehe! Just to learn the 101 & stuff! Anyone? Thanks! And more poWer!

Hey On1e, There are lots of online tutorial available for 3dS Max online. I've been tinkering with it a few years ago but I find it too difficult. I used TruSpace Caligari for simple 3D like logos and stuff. There are cheap books(reprints) for 3DS, but they are obsolete. If you will buy a book then go for the imported new ones (Powerbooks/ National/ Datablitz/ Macromind etc) If you are cash strapped (like me) or you would like to put your money on bike stuff instead ( like most of us here ) there are ebooks available around- Ka*aa etc .
I can't talk about taking classes coz I never took any, so I think it would be unfair for me to rate them.
More power, and good luck!

Ei! In our company we're doing lotsa 3d stuff, but we're using 3d Atelier our own program but most of us here have backgrounds in different 3d stuff (Maya, lightwave, zbrush, autocad, even swish...). In 3d if your a beginner u have to concentrate first on modeling, learn to draw and model objects first, then texture, putting some color on those models, then animating, making them move. Try to concentrate on a particular aspect first then move on, it helps to understand those complicated things involved in those 3 major steps. If your stuck on a particular topic, pm me, maybe I could help. Btw here's our site www.micronetclub.co.jp/3da/3dx/gallery.htm Just click on the icons and download the player. Ciao!

I knew someone would come to the rescue!!! I'm overwhelmed by your replies.
I did try some online stuff but... I fear using Ka*aa cuz of the alleged spyware complication that comes with it. But I appreciate opening it up, Sir Aldous. A similar but much safer d-load proggy, WinMX... It's been on and off lately. Not running smo0thly... Any chance of knowing other softwares? Thank you again.
Sir Chris, thank you! I'll try to google for any downloadable stuff: RealDraw. From what company is it? ||might help in my search||
Feraskulio, pardon me for calling names . Don't know your realname, eh[Sir, what's your name, BTW]? Must be exciting to work in a environment like yours. Ambiance might have been so cool!!! To see your creations come alive!
Have done a number of animations but just simple ones... Cuz when using GIF creator proggy it tends to look flat. NO matter how good yo've made it. Flash has its shortcomings/limitations too. Or is it just me cuz I'm not well equip in scripting ( lack much knowledge in programming).
So i wanna try 3D animation seriously. Find no problem with drawing and modelling. Have been doing sketches and watercolor painting since I was a kid. Have tried oil painting but i find it hard cuz you can't adjust the color the way you could do so in watercolor.
And I have a good foundation in Photoshop, Freehand, coreldraw( li'l ).
Hope to hear more from you, Guys!
Thanks a lot! And more power to the crew!

On1e, Try EMule or Edonkey - but the servers are using Donkey servers instead of Fasttrack network. Its very slow especially when you are on dial up. But you can find almost any file you want. I use Apollon - It can connect to multiple P2P network at once . Open source too.. sadly it runs only in linux

Open source too.. sadly it runs only in linux i'm a user of linux in the office.... apollon is just like those kazaa... or i-mesh or whatever.... it does'nt suit my taste when it comes to speed downloading.... better try "bittorrent" if you want a boost.... and i'm using it.... ooops off topic na......
