Hi everyone....
Im planning to convert my old trek steel frame to horzontal dropout and if possible to make it disc ready aswell.
Does anyone have a sample mechanical specification in doin this?
I dont want to use tensioner on it.
Thanks

Sir in my knowledge, once a horizontal dropout, always a horizontal dropout for steel frames.
I have seen frames in our place converted to parallel dropouts they bring it the frame builder here near our place to be built up i think for a fee of Php 500. Ive seen road bikes from parallel dropouts to horizontal converted to horizontal ones, one must provide the dropout to be used.
As for the frame to be disc ready adaptors could be bought at big bicycle shops, just bring in the frame for fitting.

yeh you gotta buy some dropouts if you want to do that if your going to import one migh be less hassle to buy a 1x1 or voodoo frame locally.

paragon sliders and dropouts are sweet.
if you want to preserve the vintage and 'era' look, maybe keep it on canti or V brakes, and try look for a magic ratio which, if luck would have it, would negate the need for a horizontal dropout fix or a tensioner.
Good luck and post pics!

nice find donskido. hmmm... that frame design looks very similar to the new Ibis Tranny. It seems this builder's idea predates the Tranny by several years. Very interesting!
