Lakbay Nowhere To Go (Jan 15 2006) @ Nasugbu, Baeng-engs (MT. Talamitan and Mt. Batulaw)
==========
guys,
we didn't push for the bike up to talamitam's peak. it was dark already and the full moon appeared around 8pm which wasn't enough. only newbie milo brought a beamer. but we enjoyed lots of fire roads on the way to the hi-way going to talamitam.
i hope dirk's ok with his shoulder. good thing you wore a helmet dude. i hope brent's arm is ok and it doesn't end up in a cast.
i hope goodboybrionne doesn't lose his job, hehehe. becoz brent happens to be his boss, hehehe ;D. i hope bruce doesn't get beat up by his wife for going home at 10pm, hehehe ;D.
sorry for the unbikable parts, hehe. i never knew we were going hiking instead of biking . it was fun though. sorry as well if we were a bit lost. it seems that the vegetation was so thick, some or parts of the trail disappeared so we ended up making trails of our own.
milo's the only one who utilized his bike 50% of the time during the ride. for the rest, we had to carry our bikes 70-80% of the time. milo: your handling skills is awesome. you're the most improved rider here in PinoyMTBiker, hehehe. you carved single tracks of you own, blindly with grasses 6 feet tall, riding your bike, downhill at a steep incline. the only thing that would stop you is a branch that's gonna hit your chest, hehehe. but your still a newbie, so take it easy, hehehe ;D.
my legs hurt like hell from the blade grasses slicing through my skin each leaf at a time. my face is burnt badly i couldn't apply eskinol on it. i've never felt my arms cramped before in my entire life. it always happens to my legs but this time its my biceps and index finger, hehehe. i really should train carrying/lifting bikes becoz you'll never know, we might end up occassionally carrying our bikes like say within 4-5 hours again in the future . good thing my bike wasn't that heavy. gbb's was, hehehe at 35 lbs!
this newbie ride rocks! sa uulitin, kung may sasama pa, hehehe. anyways, newbies are always welcome to join our rides. but we take no responsibility, ok?
here are some shots:
Dirk was either too fast or the background is, hehehe ;D
i wonder what happened in the next 2 pictures...
instead of wearing a fullface, milo opts to use a mask instead, hehehe
sometimes the grass was too high and the trail is only half a single track we had to lift our bikes likes this.... ;D
this is biking!

due to popular demand, (actually demand lang ni paul, milo dirk and brusko. if i dont post it, they might hurt me, hehehe. the rest i think wants to forget it and even regret ever joining this hike, err ride, hehehe), here are some of the pics i didn't post (sorry, wholesome shots only, hehehe). thanks for your patience, hehehe

here's some more...
here's milo's ride. i think milo can do a lot of things if he has a better rig. the frame is ok but everything else is @#$%. he invests more on skills rather than his bike and doesn't mind. every now and then he breaks a derailleur hanger and an RD and he always brings one or 2 during rides. i think his bike weighs in at 35lbs. his fork doesn't have any rebound. just jacks him up without any qualms on his part.
bruce doesn't have any outdoor backpacking experience and has knee problems.
paul has had problems with his drivetrain (rear) for almost half a year but he just keeps on pedalling. paul's bike weighs like a trail bike even if its a HT.
as for me, i just try hard. i dont have the skill. i'm the weakest link as far as me and my bike is concerned.
