flatland tricks are a lot harder on an MTB due to the slack head angle and the rake of the fork.
but on the other hand, balance tricks are easier due to the larger wheel diameters. I still think flatland should be done on 20 inchers though.

I'd stick with trials ;D alone, hirap na pag aralan.
Joes try making your fork harder first so you wont have a hard time with your wrists when you change to a rigid fork.
When I shifted to rigid it was as if it were meant to be. Moves were better to make. I didnt have a hard time shifting because I had semi ridgid suspension fork before ;D. Just make necessary adjustments like dont grip too hard when you land etc.

martin recently switched to oversized(?) handlebars. it hurts my wrists just going down from the curb.
which leads me to a semi-off topic question: is flexing important on some components?

When it comes to forks, flex is bad. Mine has lots of it.
Usually the way you grip a handlebar with suspension is tighter than how you should hold a handlebar with a rigid fork. Hold the handlebar loosely allowing the bike to move up and down but not sideways. Also act as if you were the suspension. Drop your body some more just to delay the effect of the impact of the front tire thereby spreading it into a longer impact...and oh, run a low pressure.
