This is a repost from OTN from a post of Anon. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pedal-upRoll at the wall like you mean it. Focus on where you wanna land. Bad foot at about the 12 o'clock position. As you get nearer the wall, start pedalling hard, whilst crouching down over the bars, ready to spring up. As you pull up and your good foot comes round to the top of the stroke, start really throwing your body up, and lifting the bars up hard with your arms. Extend your body vertically, meaning you can suck the bike up underneath you higher. Just spring up super hard, whilst still pulling the bars hard. Throw the bars forwards once the front's cleared the wall fully, and bring the back of the bike up with your hips, knees and ankles. Just suck it up That should do it, really... --------------------------------------------------------------------------

The pics seem to be that of a trials dude so ..a bit unrealistic for average MTBikers IMHO The body english is way too athletic/too much power at such a high obstacle...and checkout the tire pressure ...definitely a trials or flatlands dude But Patrick 's commentary s spot on ...........I think cant to that trick even in my widest imagination though

Actually it isnt, its much easier to learn than a bunnyhop. The one on the picture is riding a mod trials bike, the move however is perfectly the same on a mountain bike. A person riding a stock 26" bike can actually pedalhop/japslap higher. Here's a picture but this is a bit extreme: Another one: I tried learning this for tha past month and so far I could pedalhop up something like 4" higher than my mtb tire, thats like half of the stacked pallets in the picture above. I surprised even myself that in one session I was able to increase my record by a foot. Once you get the motion its easier to make it higher and believe me its no effort to pull off once you get it. I said that before while learning trackstands, I though I never learn it but what ive learned is that everything (in riding) is just a matter of time. Give me a few hours I believe I can teach you hehe. BTW I started learning on a regular MTB.

Ewik at which part of an abubaca do you mean? Pulling before planting or after planting the rear tire?
I could do an abubaca sort of, but I still suck at fakeys.

try nyo riding at FTI - the loading ramps are great for getting fakies and rollbacks wired.

try to find a slope that you can practice rollbacks and half cabs. you just need to be persistent. I was lucky cause I learned to do rollbacks and fakeys really early coz i live near loading ramps. they really helped.

ewik, try kicking the surface where you are planted using your bike, just dont forget to recoil via smearing your foot on the pedals while tucking it in. I found knowing the kangaroo helps (a backhop hoping backwards). and oh, try just to release the brakes at first then mix some footwork ie kicking to clear the place you planted. I have access to a mild ramp, about 2 feet on the highest beside our house, will that do @wade?
