When I was going home from the office in the morning (7:20am) of Feb 23 (Sunday) it was nothing but fun...I made a chamba japslapping about 2feet ledge then balancing my way to do an endo drop along south bound kamuning right before the lespu station, endo side dropped over a 2-3 feet kerb along cubao near Sogo. bunny hopped about a foot-low bangketa hehehe I also made a drop on the other end of that bangketa made by mmda before santolan area. japslap bangketas and ledges and made jump on small kerbs along edsa-san juan area. then at ortigas area made some fancy jumps with ga-pantal na lubak sa daan hehehe then saw some 3-inch thin kerb and have little fun with it. at boni area i tried climbing stair cases infront of wendy's then I get tried so proceeded home but I saw this beautiful sight infront of Prodential building along edsa about blocks away after you pass by caltex, I climb it..never succesful after 5 tries. but on the 6th try, I made a chamba going up it and coasting along while it goes higher then on the top I thought I will going to fall but thanks God I manage to keep my balance..then endo drop on my way down. Can't explain the feeling but I am smiling on the rest of the way home. Then I reached guadalupe area, ilalim, on the left side facing the pasig river I saw some ledge about 2-feet high then enjoy the rest of my energy there. It was so fun. reached home at around 11am. The General is waiting for lunch...hehehehe

just want to share my recent chamba... while i was practicing backhops, i successfully did 2 pedal kicks going back to the stool where i rest my front wheel. when i do backhops kasi i literally move back while hopping... any advice on keeping a steady position while doing backhops? i've also been practicing doing pedal ups... so far i can pedal up on a 6-8 inch curb. hehehe...
question: my left arm always goes numb while doing trials... does this also same with you guys (either or both arms)? thanks.

Raimun, good job keep it up...
First of all you have to expect to hop going backwards at the beginning. As you get better-er hehe you will then hop in place, as you get good you could eventually hop bits forward to edges etc.
I suggest learning the kangaroo (search spaceman's website for the video) it helped me a lot.
For the arms. Check your handle bar sweep. The handle bars should have a neutral position on a backhop meaning it should resemble an xc, dj, freeride etc bike's hbar sweep on two wheels vs yours on a backhop position. Gets mo?
Another factor is brake lever fully engaged position, it should be atleast parallel to the grips or nearer. Put the levers in you should be able to use one finger fully locked braking.
These factors are important to learn trials fast. Huwag matigas ang ulo hehe.
I learned these (hbar + lever positions) the hard ang the long way. Thats a shortcut for you guys. Tired, numb arms wont ket you backhop or even allow you to learn to backhop longer.

My latest tsambas. Bunny hopping on curbs 6-10 inches, wheelie drops on 8-12 inch stuff, and doing some kangaroo (na a-out of balance on the sides after 4 hops. Practicing sidehop without the drivetrain on 6 inch curbs (but bashed by RD so bad that i really need some replacement).
Still can't get the timing and coordination of pedal punches while hopping forward. What am I doing wrong? Or maybe i need to practice more hopping (it really drains all my energy).
Anyway, thanks guys for the forum it really helps alot. Hope I can ride with you guys soon.

Thanks pat. i think i get what you mean on the hbars. no chamba's for me today due to work.
nice chamba's there, mexophilia. when i do pedal punches, i crouch down/pump with my weight slightly forward before punching the drivetrain. after that i lift then push the bars forward. hope this helps.

Anyway, thanks guys for the forum it really helps alot. Hope I can ride with you guys soon. Just practice till you get the timing down, if not, practice more hehe Trials drains energy especially if your doing something wrong. As you get it down it takes less energy eventually. Hope to ride with you too. Just check this thread or pinoytrials.the-talk.net for ride schedules. That goes for other guys here hehe. Let us compile our progression there to have a history of the trials scene in our country.
