i've been on hardtail a few years. ht is lite and easy to handle. ht can let you fly and jump, even on the street. i've learned bunnyhop on my ht. but it limit my skills on the trail, as to my experience. my ht is the last thing i road after havin an injury on a pre-race run. pero, for me, its quite hard to handle on rockies. its a lot different now with me on a fs rig. i build more confidence on my riding. so i guess ht for me is for streets na lang.. deejay try using an fs, then decide...

Start from the basic which is HT and develop your technical skilll, from there I think anybody can progress and the next time you ride with a fs it would be much better. Riding HT in a very technical terain requires great skill and not to mention BALLS!

Hardtail Downhill Rig? Look for a really burly frame, hook it up with a long travel fork and downhill parts and presto! This was my old rig...

2. check the head tube if it is gusseted/ reinforced, pwede!

Okay guys, thanks for you comments. I've known a lot of riders who owned high end bikes, they can buy anything, to the expensive parts but they can't win, i'm not saying that they are nothing but I think RIDER first then the BIKE is second. How bout the the 30 ft.+ drop from the film "Statement". the rider uses a, I think, Balfa Minuteman HT frame. the man is sick..its Russ morrel....but he does'nt compete..he just ride for the video and for fun...

I know that there's a really big gap between FS and HT bikes, can a hardtail be use in riding for the rest of your ride?
