Rock shox joins the band wagon of long travel single crowns
with 3 models lyrik, totem and domain.
check pinkibike.com 2007 rock shox.
single crown with boxxer's tech, heard of that before, it's now out.
will a single crown win in a DH race? guess depends who is riding it.
always like the look of single crowns fork on your rig,
looks more versatile, and
makes your bike look more of a mtbike and not a motorcycle.

Yeah, I like the look on single crowns too! I don't see why it wouldn't win DH races. A dream build of mine would be a Transition Gran Mal w/ a single crown fork. Nice!

yes on the way out na monster hebigats DC forks (monster T, super monster t) its evolution,
but lighter racing DC forks is here to stay 8 inchers is today's standard for dh racing, u can not match dc with sc
will they go to 9 inch?
and long travel SC 6 to 7 inchers fork has a new market now, fr, am, dj, slopestyle etc..they need it so they built it.

I think they're gonna have a hard time selling these. MSRP on the Marzocchi 66 is what, $799? Sure, that Totem looks nice, but what's it got that's $350 better? 10 extra mm of travel? A few extra mm on the stanchion size?
I'd take the Zoke and save the money any day. Plus the 66 has been out a few years, so they've had a chance to spot any bugs and deal with them...

The RS Totem is a cool fork! One of my buddies has the Totem 2 Step and it has comparable adjustments to my 66 RC2x. The stanchion difference between the 2 forks is visually noticeable when you put them side by side and my buddies fork has 180mm travel as opposed to 170mm travel on my '06 RC2X. I also like the cool stickers that comes with the package because you can customize the look.
Now the bad part. Like what dayuhan is implying, the new RS products is just heavily overpriced. The reason why RS made this fork is because they have no answer to Zoke's 66 line of extreme freeride forks. Yes the stanchion tubes are bigger but the walls on those stanchions could also be thinner like Fox's RC2 v.s. Zoke 888 RC2x.
Since my fork is almost fully broken in and my buddy's fork is brand spankin newly installed, there is still no comparisson in terms of ride quality. I will give it about 10 hrs of ride time before we can compare them and I'll just keep you guys posted.
By the way, the reason why he got the Totem is because his Boxxer Ride cannot keep up with my 66 RC2x and he just wants to even things out a little bit. By the way we have comparable bikes KHS FR2000 although mine has the Manitou Swinger 6 way while his is the Romic Double. I think I still have a slight advantage as far as rear suspension goes because mine is a piggy-back shock with low & high speed compression, rebound, spv pressure & volume, as well as preload. His only has general compression, rebound, & preload adjustments.

RS won't have trouble selling the Totems. Right now, it's the fork to get.
What year is that Boxxer Ride that "can't keep up" with your 66? if it's the 2006 Ride w/ the MoCo unit then i wouldn't go out and sell it for a 66.

no he has the '04 ride. he says it's not as progressive and adjustable as the 66 rc2x that is why he got the totem. plus he does not want a dual crown anymore for trail riding. his totem is lookin good though. Can't wait for all the stiction to go so we can have an apples to apples comparisson!
