Ok ...compromise...27" Seriously...I use 27 for DH...25-25.5 for XC/AM (trying that Kabush look) which reminds me ...I need to sell my PDW and WF hbars

hbar length really depends on the rider. i'd go for cut hbar. this is how i view it. the length will/should go with the wideness of your shoulder. this will give your handling skill better response because the length is cut just right with your body geometry. measure your shoulder first. then try adding up a couple of inches on the measure & mark your bar. then try feeling the comfyness of the length your measured bar. then decide which measurement to follow your cut. Based on my experience, the statement above is only true for XC bike handle bar length. It's not applicable to downhill or freeride bikes. Wide handle bars can give us more control... this is not limited for XC only. this works for general bikers too. you got to start measuring somewhere upto the point of measuring the right length of the hbar that suits you. than cutting your bars immediately. i have tried a friend's bike and find the bar narrow for me. there are those people who have narrow shoulders and there are those who have broad shoulders. so don't depend on others' measurement. its better to measure based on your body geometry.

handle bar width (in inches) of your dh idols: Rennie 29.5 (w/ custom extensions) ;Dnathan big boy rennie is using the stock low rise ea70 monkey bar which is 685 mm that's 27 inches he is using extensions at each side to get his 29.5 bar width maybe expansion bolts like the bar plugs or glued/welded tubing fyi
