Here's some of the major DH race rules that were discussed during dh community representatives meet last week courtesy of www.teamhaooh.comPRO/EXPERT CLASS Riders actively competing will remain in this category. BEGINNERS CLASS riders automatically move up to the Novice Class upon accumulating 5 top 5 wins. Riders in this class may voluntarily choose to move up to the Novice class without any wins but can no longer move back down to the Beginners class. NOVICE CLASS riders who accumulate 3 top 5, and at least 1 1st place wins within 1 race season or 1 year will automatically move up to Pro/Expert Class. NOVICE CLASS RIDERS OVER 35 years old are allowed to race in the Executive Class without loosing their Novice Classification. PRO/EXPERT CLASS RIDERS OVER 35 years old not currently in the top 10, or has been inactive or has not raced as a Pro/Expert for at least 2 years can race in the Executive Class, but cannot race in the Novice Class. INACTIVE PRO/EXPERT CLASS RIDERS who have not competed for at least 5 years may choose to move down to the Novice Class, but will again be subject to rule 3 RACE FORMAT. The two acceptable race formats are the a) World Championship System - 1 seeding run, and a final run. Fastest time in the final run wins. And b) Two Run System - 2 runs, the best time counts, the fastest single time wins.

everybody,
The concrete ruling that we (attendees) agreed upon are our basis from now on. There are still "people" side-commenting that it's the same ruling of old, kesyo walang nangyari. Bakit nagkagulo sa baguio? Kasi walang basis. We are starting a new life for our sport. Why do other people like to pull other people down? Why don't we work together? The forum agreed if you are invited and you did not attend, you're vote is counted as "yes." Politics is B.S. so don't let it in.Peace.

Any suggestions are welcomed. We're still drafting the rest of the rulings (for approval/finalization) of all team heads/representatives). But as of now these items should guide us in future events. Mabuhay ang Philippine Downhill!!! Sana lalo pang marami ang sumuporta sa sports ng downhill kesa sa sabong at karera ng kabayo na sa tingin ko ay uri ng sugal at dehins "SPORTS".

jay, sir erwin,
feasible ba sa pinas if we will have point system sa dh racing? sample, if you have accumulated certain number of racing points (for top 10) in one racing year you will be upgraded to the next category.
is it ok, if all phil dh racers will be registered under one dh association?, like I.D./license system indicating his category and vital info (like blood type maybe hehehe) and one is required to present his I.D. in every race governed by this one dh association,
right now phil dh is still a loose organization, maybe in the near future we will have this one governing body compose of dh riders well represented from different parts of the country who truly love the sport. who's main objective is to upgrade phil dh racing to international standards/level.

Ritchie,
Yes definitely.
Point system for riders was one of the topics discussed during the meeting. However, before it could be implemented, a lone governing body/organization has to be created first to implement the rules and guidelines and monitor points of each rider.
We are hoping we could set up this organization asap.

what name wil it be? How about Philippine Downhill Racing Association or DH Philippines.
UCI affiliated/recognized and sec registered.
just an idea, a series of races for the year like a phil dh cup, leg 1 loag, leg 2 baguio/la union, leg 3 rizal/NCR, leg 4 cebu/iloilo and leg 5 davao/cagayan de oro.. etc, points to be awarded to top 10 riders per category.
and award top pro with most number of points at the end of the series as rider of the year
it can happen, riders let's support.

@roach/ bud: Found another old thread that's probably relevant to the proposed MTB Org we're trying to organize.
This was the first meet and first attempt to form an organized MTB organization.

puregutz-lets work on this brad, hopefully before the year ends, just a question though....what about our bros in the south? with due respect to their talents, their bloody good, no question on that but how come when they join our races here they move to lower categories? like us brad, when we race here or wherever the race is we stick to our category, (sometimes kc nakkgulat yung mga kalaban or minsan alam mo n ganito ang category nila biglang baba sa ibang place, kawawa tuloy yung ibang rider, no match agad). maybe we can also ask them to join this DH union for us to have a solid group or have a governing body of their own under the national umbrella, what do you think?

Gerry as of now that is allowed simply because there is no official written rules implemented,
but that will be history if we release the dh constitution, signed by all.
but first things first,
we have to "organize" us here first, (NCR: manila, laguna, rizal)
before we can meet and talk our dh brods in the south.
how bout this one? i will propose this, and you should vote yes, okay?
MANDATORY for race organizers to provide HOT SEAT for riders with best time,
HOT seat will be HOT as in, with matching LEFT and RIGHT
HOOTERS (starlet level) is a must.
this will encourage the boys to give above 100% in their race run.
heheehhehehehehhe joke lang.

@ rocketman- does that involve getting a free kiss from the hooter, guess a night with a pretty hooter will surely blast the riders, nyhahaha, gerger

How can we distinguish who's who during a race?

@ thebee- probably we'll just base it first on the current local standings of the riders, means that if the body review the last races held in different provinces and put it on record that will be your category or the body will approved or appoint you category based on reviews and studies (tama ba ko?)

sna in the near future, A data base of rider' race results, and public records - (I think this is feasible starting with local club level, then to the local chapter.
one click on the laptop, and the organizers will
Know your, AGE? (if you are eligible to the executive class or not)
Know how many times you have podium, (If you can now be move to the expert class, or itermediate pa rin)
Know your blood Type ( in case of accidents)
etc etc
