bud, atomike, element etc., mga tol ano ba sa tingin nyo ang "best bang for tha buck" hub set for light free ride/occasional DH/ and aggro-XC (my kind of ride mostly) fatboy ba? - the cheapest it seems Deore - can it last? sabi ng mga taga-Detour peeps mas OK daw sa fatboy Sun Ringle son of Bubba - mura2 daw pero ala ako makita Da Bomb - medyo namamahalan ako. magaan ba 'to? as real racers alam ko baka iba gamit nyo. and i know marami na questions about hubs sa forum na 'to. ang question lang is directed dito sa particular riding style na gusto natin lahat... 3 M's sana: MATIBAY, MAGAAN at MURA (cheap-a$$ products coz cheapskate ako eh hehe) if you're a betting man, saan kayo?

mike,

dont worry about flexing the skewers or shattering the sealed bearings............ Ang sealed bearing dehins nadudurog wag mo lang i-eexpose sa buhangin,or pababayaan mag corrode!(As with all moving metal parts:proper lube and cleaning lang safe yan mga 2 taon!) Id put my name on that.........product tester ako dati ng Fatboy at da bomb eh... ;D

Wag ka mag alala matagl pa bago maka durog ka nun brad! ampotah chie! build up mo yung confidence nila on the parts they like.
You dont just break something just like that. Bakal yan matigas yan! Mas matigas yan sa ulo mo.... ;D

richie,
di pa ko nakakakita novatech. kasing-gaan ba ng fatboy? or even da bomb? makabisita nga sa trixx in the coming days...tenks
bud,
hehe yung mga bumabali ng axle ibang breed, ibang liga yan..kayo nila bans.
ako i don't think makakabali ng ganyan in a drop or jump unless a really freaky accident occurs (knock on wood!) sakin mas importante na magaan at matibay...yung kaya pa ring dalhin sa padyakan uphill that's all. malamang mag fatboy na nga ko (or da bomb kung mura lang ibibigay ni jane)
then baka palitan ko ng da bomb big Q skewers - gaan! mukhang matibay! na try nyo na 'to malamang... am also looking at SPINERGY skewers

Deore directional insert type hubs ang gamit nung isa kong bike w/c i assembled year 2000, sa bigat kong ito so far di pa naman nasisira o nadamage ang bearing o kopa sa loob. OK naman ang deore (except their bb hehehehe)

I'd choose DBomb over Fat Boy, more durable from what I've seen. FireEye is worth a look, reasonably priced, durable, performs well. Heavy, but cheap strong stuff usually is.

fire eye is the best! imagine 4 bearings on rear!!!talking about durability!!only set back too heavy, i would rather go heavy parts cause it built to last than a light one but easily broken...think about it...bigger bikes has more solid work out to your arms, shoulder and body, than a light one....

For me, I used Shimano Deore on my DH/FR bike... ;D. I know that its not meant for this type of ridding but it still serves me well since 2004. From XC, DJ, FR to DH racing... it keeps going strong. I'm planning to change the set with Dabomb Head Spins but I could not kill this Deore (535) set of mine . Really, its a bang for the buck... by the way, the hub set undergo complete PM every quarter. Ride Hard and Ride Safe...

I used to have da bomb hubs on my old rig and I know they're built to last although the rear hub didn't last that long for me I had to have it repacked. Right now Im using fireye's on my current rig and I'm still yet to abuse it... Let's see... ;D
