Anyone had itchy face a day or two after a ride? I notice that when I do long rides I have lots of small pimples ( or what ever it is ) later that day or the next. I thought it was the dirt but I bike commute 2-3 times a week, pero I don't get this. Someone suggested it might be because of the sunblock ( Coppertone Sport Spray). I noticed that I only apply sunblock whenever I have very long rides. I wash my face when I reach home, but sometimes I would rest a while if I am very exhausted. Any ideas?

yeah could be the sunblock. mas sensitive ang facial skin i think. i don't put sunblock on my face anymore actually, just make sure your helmet's got a good visor siguro and that should be more or less ok (of course, you can also try the payong hat ala Milo

Or could be a dry sweet (salt build up) and your skin allergic to it..

Probably the sunblock. Look for sunblocks that are non-comedogenic, meaning, won't block your pores.
Likewise, wash and exfoliate your skin ASAP after long rides.

well, being kikay in a sense, factors that contribute to face itchiness are as follows: a. heat - pores open up on hot rides. these pores attract dirt and thus develop u small pimples. The nose has bigger pores, so this most likely itch the much. b. airborne dirt - of course, dirt. not only dirt in the sense that it is dirty, but airborne micro-debris and microorganisms contribute to itchiness. u cannot see all of them, though. same as above, but open pores result to bigger complications on the skin c. UV rays (UVB/UVC [without sunblock])- brought by the sun, these damage ur skin. since the face is most sensitive and most probably the exposed part on our rides, UV dries up the skin quick, and dry skin also causes itchiness. The Cure(s): a. After a ride, wash ur face with a pore cleanser. A good product i use is Master Facial Scrub. It has menthol, which cools up the face, thus closing the pores after washing. Mas gwagwapo ka daw dito b. Exfoliant - exfoliants not only cleanse better than soap, they also remove dead or dry skin possibly damaged my sun's UV rays. Master Facial Cleanser (sikreto ng mga gwapo), yung Classic para dehins matapang. pinakamatapang kasi yung Clear. c. Sunblock/Sunscreen - chose this as prevention from damage, but itchiness cannot guarantee coz people have different skin types. Choose hypoallergenic sunscreens. d. Shade - use helmet visors in the sense. that's all i can share for that itchy topic hope i contribute to ur inquiry
