I agree with everyone. The white tuff is salt. This mostly happen on hot/humid weather condition. THis happen to me most of the time during summer and even my camelback straps create build up.

White marks buti wala sa shorts else it will be suspicious. ;D ;D ;D especially in the crotch area ;D a person can be considered acidic not just because of the minerals they exude but the perspiration itself even if 40 % salt includes a lot of other stuff. yung mga taong amoy maasim after a ride? he he it reflects partially what their diet consists mostly... e.g. meat, beans, pulutans, beer, gin..... err not necessarily in that order ;D try adjusting your diet to include more fiber, less animal protein... if you consume 2 liters o water a day.. that is a good start.

i think its better to adjust my diet plans... it got me curious..is there really an "acidic person" or such a condition? i thought acid/s is/are naturally produced by our stomach to kill harmful bacterias or germs that may hav contaminated the food we eat and that the ph balance in our stomach is automatically adjusted by our body. now, if there is such a condition..what is the proper term for it? what will happen to a person with such condition? thank you very much in advance PinoyMTBiker docs.

(remember your sour mouth taste in the morning?) the human body is an amazing machine that can maintain your body at a balance.. even if it skews a little to one direction acidic or basic... you really are at just a little above or below neutral... pH 7. the 2 conditions your asking about is called metabolic acidosis for the acidic or ketosis for the other.... to make a long story short... this could be brought about by derangements in your kidney, circulatory and respiratory systems.... just put it this way.... love your body... don't gain too much weight, drink plenty of fluids, include fruits, grains, and cereals in your diet... your body will do the rest ;D nearly forgot the most important thing..... bike about 20-30 kms a week at a good pace.... ;D ;D

heart burn is a different condition...something closer to GERD or a reflux disease... its a common problem encountered by people who kinda like lying down after a meal. the sphincter at the entrance of the stomach relaxes a bit and some of its contents leak out back to the throat hence the acidic taste, feel, and irritation. since it is almost always near the center of the chest it is mistaken as your heart being all achy... hence the name heart burn ;D

my wife complains that i get acidic (breath) after eating food w/ lots of garlic. does anybody experience this too?
and before my HA, after drinking lots of coffee and smoking too many cigarettes, my breath would get acidic too.
so yes, changes in my diet and habits got rid of that problem for me hehehe

it means that it isnt controlled so much anymore.. not too serious but is more of a nuisance to you, there is a medication we use called domperidone... not to be confused with don perignon or emperadone he he..

[/quote] you bet, it's really a nuisance. it occurs maybe twice or thrice a week. even if i don't eat spicy foods or drink coffee. the medication i always take is Protonix (pantoprazole sodium). just one tablet and it's very effective. a few minutes from taking the tablets you can already feel the medication doing its thing.
