If you are young and extremely fit, almost always, that's a good thing. But in rare cases, a high fitness level(like cycling/mtbking) hides and may even help cause a heart problem known as ARVD(arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia). It's a genetic condition in which the muscle of right ventricle turns into fatty or fibrous tissue. --Signs of ARVD: Passing out-especially during exercise, heart palpitation-especially during exercise, sudden death in the family/sibling/parent before 60. --Heart attact"out of the blue" --More common in men than women. --people with ARVD can be very fit Athletes, extreme exercise(like cycling/mtbking) may trigger this condition. brad. and Sis.,"dahan dahan lang" we have to do MTBking with caution.Any more info. on this ARVD?

In addition to the above. Understand there is no known cause or cure of ARVD, although it does appear to run in families. Based on this, researchers are working to identify which genes might be involved in passing along the disease. Sabi nila they now working to develop gene therapy to treat ARVD. (Baka kulang s "SEX"). For the meantime, treatment for ARVD is aimed at controlling the arrhythmias that could lead to a life threatening cardiac event.

jeesh you guys are really digging deep.... unfortunately i haven't encountered this type of disorder yet so i can't share much... except that we've found that arrythmias occur even in athletes... it is just a different kind of arrythmia.... kinda like a voluntary kind.
ever hear of people being able to control their heart rate by will power alone? that ain't no fiction. talk about mind over matter.... este the heart that is.
