While there are many ways to reduce ones blood pressure... there are a few documented techniques to think it lower... yoga, taichi and other meditation exercises are among them. Dr Herbert Benson had come up with a simple way to reduce your blood pressure by a few simple steps Find a quiet place to sit down in a comfortable position Close your eyes Relax all your muscles, progressing from your feet to your face.... and keep them relaxed Breathe through your nose. As you breathe out, say a single syllable word ( one, bike, free etc) silently to yourself Continue for 10 to 20 minutes. You may open your eyes to chick the time, but do not set an alarm. When you finish, sit quietly for several minutes, at first with your eyes closed. Do not stand for a few minutes. Do not worry about achieving a deep level of relaxation. Maintain a passive attitude and permit relaxation to occur at its own pace. When distracting thoughts occur, dont dwell upon them but return to repeating your special word... With practice the response should come with little effort. Use the technique once or twice daily, but not within 2 hours of any meal, because the digestive processes interfere with the elicitation of the response. (zzzzzzzzzzz) any of you know of other alternatives?

Exercise! BP drops immediately after stopping exercise (post-exercise hypotension), and also as a training effect. www.afpafitness.com/articles/Pressurelink.htmWell doumented and more effective than that biofeedback or yoga @#$%. ;D

Breathe through your nose. As you breathe out, say a single syllable word i tried it with the word "sex" but it seemed to provoke images that were not exactly relaxing ;D ;D ;D

Staind,
May dalawa siyang VCD. dehins niya nakumpleto ang set kasi naubos na ng balikan namin sa Megamall.
Joey, try checking SM department store sa records area nila. Doon namin nakita yung VCD when we bought them. Problema lang, they're selling like hotcakes. If things will be in vain, ipa-burn kita then I'll give them on our next ride. Baka matagalan lang medyo alanganin kasi ang mga schedules ng events. Okey lang?

Does Pilatis or pelatis count as an exercise? My wife is into it. It calms her daw. It's better than nothing. Actually it's very good for the abs and core muscles. It teaches proper posture too, and if you have the right equipment it works as gentle strength training as well. I have several Pilates vids. If you can, look for the Winsor pilates series. I have the ab workout and it's a killer. Used it to replace my simple crunch workout to good effect.

I think ismi ko meron ring Pilates. She bought 2 DVDs as far I know, pero di ko naman nakikitang nage-exercise. Pero sigurado akong "nage-exercise" syang kasama ako .

My wife attends pilates sa Fitness First. She has asked a gazzillion times to join her in the class....has turned her down mega-gazzillion times. Feedback ko from other first timers parusa daw.
Kaya pala pilates ang tawag kasi nag parang Pontius Pilate ang instructor tapos ikaw ang ipa-pako sa crus.
