this is it. i finally have to call it quits. no more smoking or not even occassional smoking. doctors told me my shallow breathing is attributed to cigarette smoking (and pollution). my lung capacity is below 50% he says. so he gave me an idea: its either i quit smoking or i quit biking.

i've been a smoker since college and til now and for the longest time i've tried to quit but can't seem to find the right time but i don't lose hope ;D still waiting for myself to eventually kick the habit, the problem however is....the right time itself ;D i have a bit of motivation now since i returned to biking and see the long faces of joey (alien), cyborg and stpatr3k when i light a cig after a ride ;D

Never want to try it again...san pablo, that is... Limited my yosi ever since I started biking, hopefully I'l give it up this year, or after a few more trails...

its a real pity that a cure for smoking still hasnt been found..... ( maybe because some people dont want it to surface for a decade or 2 ;D) its really addicting properties have defeated many a would be convert. and even the most determined will succumb to a puff or two... coz "what harm can one puff do?... or one stick... or maybe two..... oh what the hell 3 aint so bad..... guilty people please look at the ceiling now

mad_doc (and the rest of the doctors here) i read somewhere that when you stop smoking, your blood sugar plummets, would you kindly please elaborate on this in a layman's term manner ;D i mean what will happen physically and mentally, what to expect, what to do, etc. i don't want my blood sugar to plummet though, does that mean it'll lead to diabetes? or is it a temporary thing? i plan to kick this habit for good that's why i'm concerned more of the aftermath when you stop smoking. BUT, it still is the healthy way to and that i know for sure shed some light docs thanks

ive been avoiding this thread for quite sometime now.... ok, i think i should come out of the closet now (not in a gay manner). just this week i started to kill the habit little by little. im limiting myself with just one stick every after meal (i eat 10 times a day. joke only). hopefully by next month my lungs are free from nicotine.

To be honest its getting harder and harder everyday not to smoke. I have'nt had one for a month now and I'm slowly gaining weight.

I don't smoke but everytime I go in to fight fire I do inhale lots of it. ;D ;D ;D Smoking gives you an apetite loss, lessens your reflexes and thinking. Most of all detoriation of over all health. Quit smoking or you will suffer from a massive brain attack, lung cancer and heart attack.
