had a great time in this clinic. didn't regret signing up at the last minute. what can i say?!? even though there were mishaps (punctured tire, plenty of riders kissing earth, shins got scraped and bloody, bikes flying towards vegetation, Louie's cousin Jon getting a dislocated shoulder following a crash caused by a faulty landing...), it's wonderful to feel 20 years younger (memories of my good ol'BMX days came cascading back)...never mind the sore muscles that followed this morning (arms, back)...nothing beats the sensation of getting serious air time on your two-wheeled iron chariot. thanks to... ...our coaches Eboy, Bongee, Paolo- for being patient & giving us valuable tips, lessons & confidence in executing our moves. you guys rock!!! ;D ... arnel (alphabolt) for putting this clinic together & documenting the event through pictures (i think i improved a little even though i still see myself as whale-fodder ;D ) ... inoy for participating; rino for taking photos & moral support ... eric for providing first-aid for Louie's cousin Jon (always a good thing to have an EMT with you during rides) ;D you da man!! ... mzmm (mon) for the bravery you've shown despite blood, spills, and what-not's ... mrs. mzmm for keeping an eye on our stuff ... Pasaway Louie for also sharing tips & more importantly, the lessons he learned about being properly hydrated (& the consequences of not being )...post your story soon, brad!!! lots of peeps need to know about it!!! ;D ... ronald arca - for your compliment ...my bike! for not giving out on me... ;D

nice to see that this event is a success. a lot of folks learned. now all you need is practice so that it becomes a natural reflex whenever you come across such obstacles. special thanks to arnel for spearheading this one. you deserve a monument brad. nice to see my long lost bike buddy louie pasaway. good to know you're ok. so moral of the story for this guy: HYDRATE OR DIE. yes, gallstones can accumulate if you dont hydrate properly. so PAUL FREEMAN CREUS: START HYDRATING YOU NINKAMPOOP or else we loose a goat and a guide, hehehe. ;D note: mountG did not participate in this event. just went to see how things went on. but i was actually looking for boyet for some custom fabrication, hehehe.

sir mon, the very agressive one ;D you bought alot of real estate there sir, next time talaga invest na tayo for some FF helmet and shin/elbow guards hopefully your esmi wasnt mad at your bruises. bunny hops are good pala ha, i feel aching at my abs, looks like a good upper-body workout thanks guys, you're lots of fun. jonjon will go to the docs later i think for further assessment of his injury. hopefully you get back in the groove soon brad spent time with Jonjon on the drive back to his place Cool dude ! He s a beginner who loves the sport ! Well , he s the cousin of Louie Pasaway so what did we expect ? The Pasaway genes are very active in him...he said he s used to falls and medical aches He even argues with the doctors who attended to him (except for the latest mishap wherein a beautiful doctor attended to him and he was speechless...he used his eyes alot na lang daw ! ) JonJon will be ok...He has a very tight group in Louie and Hansen aka hyperion And we re always here for him know what he said? : " I ll be back soon to tackle that jump as soon as Im ok" but he jumped the wrong jump (he mistakenly jumped the Novice level jump not the stepup we intended) ...lang hiya !

Urban riding is the bomb! ...the kind of bomb that scares me coz its all concrete ! drops are "to flat" . no tranny ;D my body cant take that abuse...i rode with Mike tattoo and Louie before and they did awesome and bone-breaking stunts around CCP I m gonna save my body for the mountains and the races muna , brad

The coaches were right. Once you develop the taste for what we did, it's get expensive. Right now, thinking about a dual chainring crank, tensioner and shorter stem for the DJ bike I used (it's my wife's) ;D Ronald and everyone else, let's do rounds on the track regularly... after we do Wall first, still have to build the stamina and strength! I'll be sure to get some dirt track paraphernalia first. No more real estate for me, as far as I can help it.

mga prens in the pedal , i had so much fun i did an endo... twice! popped my chest tube but that didn't seem to matter, only realized it on the way home to pque. seriously the day was the best therapy ever (considering i only paid php200?)... a day spent with all of you, doing things i thought i'd never be able to do again. was once upon a time part of a start-up mtb patrol w san diego county back in the early 90s, doing emt runs on fireroads for distressed/lost riders. back then we used rigids (steel huffys) and trail riding was more of a fly by wire, hail mary sort of thing (hence my comment that it works better if you close your eyes, wasn't kidding). so boyet, its actually you guys who's giving me the push and the will power... not the other way around. kaya naman plankton d, the betterer way to put it is, you all da man! so what's next on the agenda?

yo Alphabolt ;D thanks for the compliment ;D ...like i said over & over last sunday, the coaches were really great in giving instructions & seeing what needs to be improved...plus of course, giving the motivation and confidence for us "rusty" ;D ex-BMX riders (& even those who didn't go through that phase) to give our best. but of course! we were in the midst of Pro's! Boyet...yes, you did catch air!!! you also did the "Combo Meal" right? (but missed the rail/berm ;D )...unlike me...didn't have the strength anymore 'coz of heat exhaustion. Eric...great to know you had a amazing time ;D ...i don't know if i'll take your advice re: closing your eyes when things get hairy ...i think if i'm gonna make the move (or crash while doing it), i'd like to see every precious second of it ('coz i don't wanna miss a thing.... ;D ) as far as taking this to the next level...well i have to convince my wife first that "body armor" is really a necessary for 'fun trail rides' ;D ;D ;D

Pasaway Jonjon update ... I brought him to my cousin who is an orthopedic surgeon at PGH and here are the findings: He tore the two ligaments that link his right clavicle (collar bone) to his scapula causing his clavicle to pop up. He also has minor chipped bones on his elbow and wrist joints. Thankfully the doc said that he doesn't require any surgery and should have 100% recovery in a few weeks. Xrays will be taken after a month to see if his injuries have healed. In short, he'll be back. (btw ... his helmet, jersey and bike weren't even scratched!) Unfortunately he went to a "manghihilot" last Sunday who massaged and squeezed his arm and shoulder instead of immobilizing them so now his shouldder, arm and hand are still swollen and painful. Ouchie ...
