This usually happen when in many ways: holding to tight the hadle bar, downhilling, your to forward from your seat, over stretch your arm to handle bar (long stem) and the seat was to high.
Solution: You need to relax your upper body ones in a while and stands up when you feel numbness on your lower back. Also check your stem maybe its to long.
Ohh!! baka tama si Gul kailangan ng bagong pyesa ;D ;D

According to experts, try to stand once in a while 15 to 30 mins during the ride. Numbness indicates pinched nerves and veins that if prolonged can do some serious damage like impotency, thrombosis, sterility and etc. Also, try to angle ur saddle parallel to the ground.Relaxed muscle will not only save you from fatigue but also it can save u some energy. Do you wear a cycling shorts with good padding?
JR, Wazzap man?

Its very important to have a pading when riding. Tama si dadjzilla by seating to long you are stoping the blood flow to your manhood. You don't want to stop your production. If your like me its ok I have already two kids and one on the way. ;D ;D ;D

bikester,
meron mga seats esp designed to relieve the pressure on your critical area between your legs...yung mga upuan na may gap sa gitna ba.
tapos, padded shorts...mas comportable syempre.
angle ng upuan mo rin, dapat mga 1 degree (?) lowered ang front end para yung weight mo malagay sa buns mo then on the wider part of your saddle.
these in combination with lifting your pwet off the seat every now and then, should do much to protect your machohood hehehe ;D

Try a sadle with cutout, it makes a big difference. Also lift up your butt once in a while. Numbness on groin area happens mostly during long uphill. While numbness on your butt happen mostly on long flat ride and downhill. Have an experience before when I was using a regular saddle, I was going a long uphill. I got so numb on my groin area that I have to stop and feel if my thing is still there. After that I decided to get a saddle with a cutout.

hope this helps: to relax the numbness, try sitting at the last most part of the but of the seat with your tangential butt sitting on its end (the pointed part of the saddle down to the middle should not be touching your butt or "junior" while your body curl as if you are riding a road bike. It trys to release the contact of the vertex part between you legs from touching the saddle....
also, if you can adjust your saddle to kind of nod down a bit, that would help, probably around 5 degrees angle down....

numbness? ang gamot dyan calsi-black o neu-black! ay sa bike pala kala ko hi-blood!
Galaw galaw lang and relax. numbness is a sign na your energy level is going down. kc your body does not hav enuf energy to properly circulate your blood.
Sa bagay pag alis pa lang ng bahay ngo-ngo na ko pag baba pa ng trail Half-concious na lang ako.............alam nyo na yun kung ano yun.......so im probably not the best person to ask about numbness....lolz ;D
*If u fall and cant feel anything on a certain part of your body, dont try to make it worse. You aint Iron man! Call 911! lolz ;D

my tip for hand numbness (from RC of mbaction) level is best! try aligning your handlebars parallel to the ground. angling the bars higher binds the wrists angling them lower, well, relaxes ur wrists another thing, look at ur grips, there are grips thats a little too big. try looking for thinner grips, it will help.

Tried all those recommendations and suggestions, some worked on me! Now numbness is not really a big problem on me, thanks a lot.
I switch my frame from 18"(M) to just 16.5"( Small ), quite small for my 5,7" frame but believe it or not, that small frame solved my numbness problems in my arms and it's best on technical trails, fast maneuvers!

brad, d 16.5" frame s definitely a better size for u brad, more clearance. m 6'0" and i have an 18" frame( although it looks small for me ). f ur using flat bars then i would suggest bar-ends so u can have multiple hand positions. butt numbness, yep a saddle with cut-outs and extra padding helps a lot and also repositioning our behinds every now and then.

Yep, I am enjoying the small frame now rather when still riding on medium frames, I don't even move my butt and arm repositioning, the numbness is gone heeheheheh, actually my arms is my problem on numbness not my wetpu hehehhehe, now it's gone.

numbness sometimes is caused by having too much sugar. It happened to me. Diet lang, no more 2nd merienda and no more midnight snack, less sweets etc. laki ng improvement.
@huckster: gawa ka thread nalang "Please help me pickup girls", over doing it yourself has bad effects too you might forget how to do it with a partner. hehe patulong ka kay Alien_Scream

um should be expected if your going downhill for long distances especially if trail is gravel or basta rough road w a lot of bumps and your speeding downwards
yes a good seat if it really sucks that can be the reason(poor balls) and a good wad of padding on your cycling shorts will help. but always expect the feeling; you feel it too after playing bball or you've been excessively jogging on for almost 3 hrs. why not with cycling it really happens
