Before I start, let me introduce to you the test riders:
Jan Xavier Pacle, known as Baguio Boy to MTBers and Boy Baguio to roadies

and Kid, known as Janix' Dad to MTBers and to roadies too

The Kinesis 510. It's a nice bike, it is.

But comparing it with my old Mosso, it feels less responsive than the full aluminum. Drastically, the frame is also heavier by how many grams! That's a aluminum with carbon fiber, yet it's heavier than the pure aluminum Mosso! My theory is, it's heavier because it doesn't have thin sidewalls like the Mosso Scamper, and the white cement, or whatever they used to cover up the welds of the 510 made it heavier,

plus, my 510 is 3cm bigger and it has big square-tapered tubes and an aero seatpost.

And, there is also the heavy star-nut. It's not actually a star-nut because it's not a star,

and you don't hammer it down to the steerer but you screw it. It's actually brilliant because it saves you time from hammering and committing mistakes, but it's heavy.

Less responsive, heavier, lot's of features that make it even heavier... is it all negative? NO! The frameset is actually lighter because it has a carbon fork, while the Scamper has an Al fork.

With the tire pressure at the max 120psi, the frame still offers comfort. The CF fork

and seatstay absorbs most of the road imperfections. On the teeth-gritting roads, when he used the Scamper... well, he grits his teeth,

but with the 510... the black rider smiles!

oops! wrong photo!
The bike also makes you feel faster, actually, despite the heaviness, you are really faster with it!

On climbs, the 510 makes it look like a piece of cake

while the other rider struggles to follow

even on downhills, it's fast and furious when your on the drops...

still, the other guy tries to catch up

and because he can't do it, he just smiles to the camera!

on flats, it's quick!

even our cameraman had a hard time capturing the black rider

left far behind, the other rider is in hot pursuit

he climbs

and to lighten up his mood, the black rider circled around so it would look like he's behind...

but then, he caught the CA wannabe, and the CA rider stopped, and as a scapegoat, he said he just wanted to pose for the camera...

what makes this frameset so cool is that it's a complete head turner! The black rider reported that he had more people looking at the 510 than the Scamper. Maybe because of the color, from afar you already see the white bartape which attracts your attention,

then closer and closer you come to see the side... oh! it's a 510!!!!

There was even a time while shooting this review, a red rider said he didn't want to be seen on camera because of the sheer beauty of the 510... whatever that means. . .

In conclusion, if you're on a budget, there's no other frame that would beat this!
Time to relax and enjoy the grass.
