is there any other workaround aside from using a tensioner if the rear is not a sliding dropout?
i'm thinking of converting the commuter folding bike to 1x

you can shorten the chain.

pwede rin hanap ka ng old rear derailleur and then make sure walang slack sa chain para dehins ka na bili ng tensioner.

Sa pang fixie ko common nakikita to, kung pang single speed bike build. Pero kung mtb crank need mo dahil mag 1 by setup ka, buy ka nalang alivio crank pwede naman gawin 1x yun 96bcd yun. Or snipe ka ng magbebenta ng crank arms lang na deore or alivio mas mura yun bili ka nalang ng chainring, make sure lang no issue pag 2nd hand parts binibili.

hi i'm from UPLB. has 2 single speed. one for "bike to work", one for trail / forestry.
