cycleart in quaipo used to sell a pair of "MAGS" made of solid steel (rims and three spokes) heavy as hell but probably bomb-proof, I still like the ability to fine tune the truing of my wheels, a good friend sold his spynergy wheels when they started to wobble and could not be trued.

Hi from the website its 4lbs+4.2lbs. Its quite heavy but according to my friend its makes him bike a lot faster going downhill and very stable. He feels the wheelset slightly flexing making it a very smooth ride. Bling factor talaga. It makes my I9's and my friends DT1750 look ordinary. Maybe it would look nice with a black Ibis SL hehehe.

They are back like 4 years ago, i've seen them in magazines a few years back on an old issue. Maybe its just the interest is back.

He feels the wheelset slightly flexing making it a very smooth ride. Isn't this what every wheelset out there does? This particular facet of technology has been shelved long ago and yet still keeps making a comeback. A certain caveat though: is it serviceable? If not, then that's bound to be one expensive one-way ticket.

recently found the tag wheelset being sold at the B&S Section which aroused my interest with this wheelset. Navigated their site and even watched the videos comparing it to alloy wheelsets and it's d@mn tough! Also read mtbr comments regarding tags and the comments and it got great reviews in terms of durability.
I'm a bit concerned though about the flexing. Will this not be disadvantage in sharp turns and berms?
What about side winds? Is there considerable drag when you encounter one?
I saw a bike sporting this wheelset in the 12-hour race. Would love to get a comprehensive review on this.
thanks!

It must be scary bombing down Bugarin with a pair of those in a typical gusty day.
Wala pa rin tatalo sa traditional hub-spoke-rim setup when it comes to strength & weight. Back in the 90s, the 4-spoked Spinergy wheelset was the king of bling. And even made popular by the TV show Pacific Blue.

looking at the picture... the wheelset need special care and attention, one mistake can easily brake it... just my thought ....
