From the Astrix Sports website (www.astrixsports.com) :
Astrix Sports' passion for their design has been recognized by other companys around the world. Astrix has licensed and developed custom frames based on their proven suspension design to some of these companys. The following companys currently use frames developed by Astrix: Bergamont - Germany - Evolve Team DH Fever - Italy - Bandit / One 80 Kuwahara - Japan - Delta R 4X Kuwahara - Finland - Dirt Spirit Dirt Jump Oxford - Chile - Team OX-6 DH Planet X - Worldwide - Growler / Storker Shawn - Philippines - Downhill / Freeride / Cross Country Suspension and Hardtail Models Solid Bikes - Germany - Mission 9 / Liberator / Index / Harlem
Meaning the Shawn frames are actually licensed by Astrix, and not rip-offs as was the opinion of some people. Interesting...

its a good frame though but its on the heavy side but then, who cares about weight when ur doing freeride hehe, their hardtail are light, but it design are like the "gts" frames, they should have improved the design

Astrix Sports frames are being manufactured by Pacific-Cycles (this is with the 's'. Pacific-Cycle is the owner of GT, Schwinn, Mongoose, etc.). If saw from their website (Taiwan), they are manufacturing motolink suspension frames (I guess with license from Astrix) as an OEM. This means that companies who are interested in their frames, can have their names printed on them.
This is what Hans-Gee LBS has done (I might be wrong here... although I got this information from reputable sources). So came the Shawn cycles.

if the shawn h2&3 are branded Motolink (Astrix, etc) frames, any idea what their hardtail is based on?

so far, im happy with my shawn 2. except for the cable routing though. i wish they went for the top pull FD. bottom pull sucks. when it rains, or whenever there's water, it gets inside them cables. hopefully installing a flack jacket will somewhat fix this problem.
