Polar Electro, the world's leading manufacturer of sports instruments and heart
rate monitoring equipment and Nokia, the world leader in mobile communications
announced a formal cooperation to bring the benefits of mobility to high
performance athletes and sports enthusiasts. The two industry leaders have
combined their technological expertise through research and development in
connectivity, software, content and optimization. As a result of their
cooperation the Nokia 5140 mobile phone connects wirelessly with top-of-the-line
Polar products like the new Polar S725 Cycling Heart Rate Monitor.
The unique mobile connectivity feature enables wireless communication between
the Polar S725 and Nokia 5140 phone with Polar MobileLinkTM application
installed in the phone. You can quickly analyse your ride on the spot on the
phone’s colour screen, save more training data and send your training or
competition data to Polar Personal Trainer web service, Polar Precision
Performance software or to your coach’s or training partner’s compatible phone
as an SMS message. View demo at www.polar.fi/mobileconnectivity
The new Polar S725 Cycling Heart Rate Monitor, the most complete system for
cyclists, is packed with accurate, advanced features, including speed, distance,
power output and cadence measurement, as well as mobile connectivity. It offers
the ultimate combination to unlock your potential.
To achieve greatness you need to train and compete with the best. The Polar S725
wrist receiver, comfortable WearLinkTM transmitter belt, Polar Speed Sensor and
the optional Polar Wireless Cadence Sensor and Polar Power Output Sensor give
you the tools to get deeper knowledge of your body and your ride to maximise
your training and performance. In addition to measuring speed, distance and
cadence the complete Polar cycling system, which now is available as one
complete product set *, can measure actual, average and maximum power values,
and analyse your pedalling technique through the left-right foot balance and
pedalling index. View demo at www.polar.fi/power_output
With the Polar S725 you can set summary heart rate limits that are active during
the whole exercise, regardless of which limits are in use. Summary limits are
ideal for following the time below and above the anaerobic threshold. The target
zone calculation differs from the other cycling products. Time within, above and
below limits 1, 2 and 3 are recorded when those particular limits are activated.
Limits can be swapped during the exercise.
When you want to analyse your training data at home, Polar Precision Performance
Software, the popular windows-based training analysis software, is included free
with the Polar S725. You can store, analyze, aggregate and keep a detailed
training log, and view your real cycling course profiles, all on your computer
screen, along with your heart rate, altitude, speed, pedalling cadence and
power.
The Polar S725 Cycling Heart Rate Monitor is available in all good cycling
outlets starting from March/April 2004 depending on the country. Polar
MobileLinkTM to Cycling is available from Nokia Software Market
(www.nokia.softwaremarket.com) in May 2004.
