Dear Gurus, I'm currently using Mavic 223's with deore hubs and am planning to buy the shimano wh-m565 wheelset because of its attractive looks and price.... Question: Is this a good upgrade or not? please consider that I'm over 200lbs... will the shimano's 24 spokes hold up? Will appreciate all comments and feedback... Thanks!

the m565 is essentially a good all-around mtb wheelset. Positioned a notch higher than the m505, it should be able to take whatever xc/aggressive xc type of riding you throw at it. Would be a fairly good upgrade from your current setup - looks and performance wise. It is a tad heavy though but coming from your current setup, it should be ok weight-wise. And at that price (artound 5.5k-6k right?) SOLD! - God knows those hubs look better than my 08 XTs hehe.
I'm not sure of this but I think it may weigh in at the same class as the Crossride.

Thanks for the reply... I'd love to have those '08 xt's or even the '07's but still dont have the budget for that...
And yeah, as you've mentioned... at 6k, SOLD!
those crossrides look great too...

I'm currently using da bomb 32h rims with deore m555. It's really heavy but very dependable. Just want to make it lighter. Can Shimano wh-m565 can much my current set up? How about in trails will it hold up? TIA
