All Concern Bikers, Guys Im switching my HT frame 2 FS frame in future and AM FS frame is d one i tnk dat cud fit 2 my riding style. jamis XLT is d 1st get on my mind so i browse in many bike shops and i found this Jamis XLT2.0 in dis one bike shop it cost P30k but 1 of my frnd told me that there are AM frame that are cheap and this is Merida AM500-D and it cost only P15k. I know that the rear sus of XLT2.0(manitou 4way) is more greater than the rear sus of Merida AM500-D(SR XC Pro-lockout). Guys i do need ur opinions or reviews in the 2 frame. : Tnx guys Dis is d Pix Jamis XLT2.0 Merida AM500-D www2.merida-bikes.com/en_INT/public/tmp/31d05a40d1ec1f4bebfcf3e5d9cc9dcb.jpg

Hi wheeler. I went through the same choice. I am not an expert but let me share what i have researched. Although both are full suspension bikes, they both have different suspension designs: Jamis xlt - single pivot Merida AM500 - four bar Both perform and behave differently. Check the link below for your review. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_suspensionAlso, one thing stuck to my mind that some bike mechanics and bikers advised me: (horizontal shock placement) - prone to brake lock (vertical shock placement) - prone to pedal bob when you stand and pump the bike Again I am not an expert. I am just sharing my research. You decide. You should get something that fits your riding style, budget and performance requirement. For the record, i bought the Merida AM800 over the Jamis. Good luck.

please check this out - MTBR Product review of Jamis XLT www.mtbr.com/reviews/Allmtn_Full_Suspension/product_128845.shtmlbut if you'll add less than P8K to your P30K - you'll get this 2007 Jamis Dakar XAM2" The third generation of Dakar multi-pivot linkage suspension from Jamis, representing a complete overhaul of an award & World Cup winning design that’s just gotten lighter, stiffer, truer tracking, and more efficient."

brad, I don't think you can get the XAM2 for 38k only, I think it's about 45k+. I think it's the XAM1 that will sell for 35-38k
wheeler, if you're going FS, don't scrimp on the shock. That's pretty much what's causing the price diff between the two. It's such a major component to your entire FS experience, so either go for the Jamis XLT, XAM or the an AM model with a better shock, at least a Fox

i recently purchased a jamis xam1 frame for a friend with a fox dhx air 3.0 for 30k. terms pa! hehehe.
IMHO, i'll go for jamis. their all mountain bikes are built to last. as MBA reviewed it, it can be used on shuttle runs. it's that tough. as for pedal bobbing, i think the foxshock has an air adjustable pedalling threshhold.
but if the merida has a horst link, just put a shock with a pedalling platform adjustment and it would be sweet. but then strength is another issue.
