i test rode the Stumpjumper a couple of months ago. nothing "special". it'll be 26lbs if its the S-works frame(carbon) with full XTR. and its not a true 5 inch rear travel. there is no such thing as "the One" bike...

Hey a Stumpy hater! hahaha... Your really must be bored. Yup I have the '05 swork alum stumpy 120mm septune rear shock (indeed less that 5in"),Fox Talas RL 85-120 (also less than 5') '05 xtr w/ crossmax xls at 26 lbs. I do use it to race, trail and even go down tags w/ it. It climbs like a goat and is plush going down rough roads. I only have one bike and I ride them in all kinds of conditions. I think pretty much what the original writer of this thread was looking for.

i didn't say that i hated the stumpy but it didn't impress me for a $5000 + bike at interbike dirt demo last year( S-works carbon stumpy 2007 model). 26lbs with Crossmax XLs wheels? hmmmm......i'll see u at interbike dirt demo this Sept. if u can make it
