Yeah, too bad there's no record of the H1's weight... I heard that it's lighter than the Giant XTC, but I have yet to confirm this. I'm equally concerned about its durability too...

I'm equally concerned about its durability too... It is either really made of easton tubing or has fake easton sticker.

Yeah, too bad there's no record of the H1's weight... I heard that it's lighter than the Giant XTC, but I have yet to confirm this. I'm equally concerned about its durability too... mine weighs approximately 1,480 kgs (less the v-brake posts). but mine isnt a shawn h1, its actually a big cat. try comparing a big cat frame and a shawn h1. the only difference is the headtube, seat and chainstay tubings. other than that, the geometry, weight, top tube, seat tube, down tube, are all the same. the price of an shawn h1? somewhere around P10K. price of a big cat? got mine for P2.5K. how's that for a good buy? hehehe. ;D . now if only the virtual toptube was longer by an inch, the frame would fit me perfectly. that's my present dilemma. my seatpost is laid back, same with my saddle. my butt sits on the rear edge of the saddle. almost perfect, sana. dont know if its genuine easton tubing though. doesnt really matter at this point. as long as its light and it does the job and for the price i paid, who cares? ;D

It is either really made of easton tubing or has fake easton sticker. Hehe. I was really looking closely at the hollographic easton sticker on the seat tube of the frame I saw. I don't see this in cheaper frames that has easton decals in some other parts. But of course nowadays, this is no guarantee. I learned that Pete (Dragunov707) bought one before, I hope he's not too busy and sees this thread so he can comment. Hey Mr. Bike Pimp!! could you share to us some info?? ;D

It seems that this frame is not so popular (or infamous perhaps?) even here in the forum. The H1's brothers, H2 and H3, have been very popular in their own categories on the other hand. I'm thinking that maybe it's very promising for the H1 too.

for 10t it might be real. but i also have doubts. we're talking about easton ultralite race right? if its not painted there should be an imprint of the easton logo somewhere near the headtube. i hope somebody get this frame's weight cos im also interested. thanks. i have talk to Bans mendoza of dirtdawg before i purchase my h-1, he said that its a very light and sturdy frame, he even used it for his Trials bike and it never broke, i chose the h-1 over the giant xtc simply because its rare, not like the xtc's that are mushrooming all over the trails ;D ;D ;D and its cheaper a bit

Well, if it came from a DH Champion, then it's worth a try.

the only difference is the headtube, seat and chainstay tubings. that's practically a different bike! yup, technically speaking. geometry though is almost the same. i would've bought pete's h-1 though becoz its hard to find such a light frame at a price that's way below the competition and even lighter, too. unfortunately though, geometry im looking for are the one's on a merida 16" (small) frame. the virtual top tube on a bigcat or shawn h-1 is short by 1" which makes me almost sit at the edge of my seat even with the seatpost laid back and the saddle maxed out at the rear on its rails. so i simply cant get another frame just to end up with the same dilemma. OT: any news about the new merida frames? ;D
