Good bike? Specialized 2007 Hardrock Sport - Black

I'm looking to get as my first MTB, the Specialized 2007 Hardrock Sport - Black.

What do you guys think? I think the first thing I'd have to upgrade would be the pedals, to make them clipless. (dehins pa yata di ba?) ... and some shoes... and a separate cateye for the MTB naman..

Good deal? What would you upgrade?

Would this bike be good on trails, or is it just a road bike (effectively) with bigger gears and tires?

I think the Specialized 2007 Hardrock Sport is a bit more expensive than the other bikes in its class. A cheaper (and perhaps better) alternative would be to build your own from scratch.

Budget dictating....I 'd recommend that you get a full suspension bike na...you "read" like you are into "all terrain" =all mountain riding more vs XC /road/fireroad

Jamis XLTs are really good buys. KHS Full Sus bikes are worth it also

Less Expensive hardtails with "novelty" bling are the Meridas
Higher up are the Giant XTCs....about the best & popular HT you can buy

But yeah...check out the Buy&Sell section...great deals abound

Hi Luke,

I would go for a "replace when necessary" kind of upgrade since you bought your bike as a set. Get to know your bike and build a relationship with it. I guarantee that in good time you'll see what needs to be replaced to fit your riding style. And don't forget to invest in a good helmet.
