I'm no expert on forks but I think XCRs are classified as xc... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they'll hold up pretty well as djs or dh forks. Don't get me wrong dude... my first decent fork was a suntour (XCP 90) it served me well and very happy with it. I'm planning to get the XCR-TA if its available here.

i think XCR stands for Cross counrty Race. Then again it could mean X @#$%
But i think its XC lang talaga theres a sticker at the bottom saying that it cant be use for DH, DJ etc. They have the suntour XCP DJ but i dont know if DJ means Dirtjumjp.

i bought an xcr and its definitely for cross country biking or race and already tried it for trail rides... but its not recommended for freeride and extreme dirtjump/downhill as there's a sticker in the fork itself that says so...

I've been using xcr for about 6 months. It has a lock out, short travel, steel steerer tube, crome plated legs.
Performance is good enough, and price is very cheap.

Sirs,
I installed my XCR (100mm travel) sa Single Speed. Tried to it bomb down @ 3 - 4 ft drops to tranny last sunday. For me the feel is okay. Hadn't bottomed it (I weigh 160 lbs). By the way, I had set the pre-load at 4 complete turns from zero.

XCRs are pretty responsive (sometimes too responsive) but I don't think you could dirtjump with these, controlled/light downhill may be possible for purposes other than that, I wouldn't bet my bones on it.

Yap, its not ment for DJ or light freeride/downhill but its can hold such beating. But again... we don't know how long it can hold such pounding . Last sunday's ride was a break-in for the XCR. As for my single speed application, I know it can hold. "XCR" fork was designed for fitness MTB riding and not for DJ, Freeride or light downhill...
