i believe that the conventional saddle's beaked shape serves a special purpose. that is, to offer more seating options for the rider when spinning, sprinting or climbing. with the spiderflex, i can only picture one position, and it's this: you'd be better off with this: just my two cents... ;D

strange looking...i dont know but sometimes when not seated i use my inner legs to get some hold on the seat for a bit of stability and some relief for my legs during long rough descents...am not sure if its possible with that shape.
sometimes i also use that nose part of the saddle when carrying my bike.
