I just bought a pair of Nokian X-trak 1.75 for 1k. Well, it's light, but not that light, and it offers good traction. I went again to Sto. Tomas alone to test this new set of tires. I inflated it at 35psi, it rolled good on pavement. Upon reaching the off road section which Sto. Tomas is famous for it's big, sharp, rounded and very loose rocks, i find it a bit hard to pedal. Reaching the more aggressive off road (steeper climbs, larger sharp, rounded and loos rocks) i deflated my tires to 20psi. It held up pretty well, good traction, no instansec of slipping. Before, using my Specialized Roll-X 2.0, i always slip on those parts, but now, i don't. Upon reaching the top, it's time to descent again. Now it's a different story. Slipping is now very inevitable. I tried both 35psi and 20psi and lesser, the tire slips in those aggresive loose rocks. Before, when i was using my Maxxis High Roller 2.5 (f) and Specialized Roll-X 2.0 (r), i never had the chance of slipping. Maybe if i was using the Nokian X-Trak 2.1, i wont experience this. Overall, Nokian X-Trak 1.75 is a good tire. Lesser rolling resistance, lighter and tougher. But you have to sacrifice downhilling a bit when you're descending on places like Sto. Tomas. 4.6 smilies: ;D ;D ;D ;D P.S. You got to be careful when cornering really, really fast, and your almost doing a u-turn, when the pavement is wet, you might loose traction. I experienced it. ;D
